In England I think today is just called “Saturday.”
:o Woops. I did not know from whence our friend TNM came. Hope the date is a good one, anyway.
Speaking of fireworks:
I’m getting out of work at 6pm tonight (I get double-time for holidays here at the Science Center, one of the only good reasons to work here), and then I will be going downtown to the Archgrounds to watch the fireworks. St. Louis has one of the best July 4th shows in the country. A barge sits out on the river and 'splodes stuff for nearly 20 minutes. I sat directly under the center of the Arch last year and had the best seat in the house. This year, it’s been raining like Noah’s Flood all day, so I’m hoping the show doesn’t get cancelled.
You’re making me nostalgic! When I was kid we always spent July 4 with my grandparents in St Louis, and I have distinct memories of being carried down to the waterfront and back to the car again good times
There were… sparks at least
Yeah, and England didn’t want that country anyway…
I’m of Irish descent, so I shall also wave my fist at the British for keeping my people down.
FIST WAVE
Yeah, feel the burn imperialists!
Yeay! So, second date’s likely then?
Very likely! Tonight even!
had a great day my scans came back clean, and i completely kicked ass at work, today, I should be able to hire back two of my employees we had to let go last month…
some days i just rock
Got to ride in the '51 Chevy at the 125th celebration in the hub’s hometown. Yea! “Old Green” is drive-able again. It’s been in the hub’s family since it was new.
Pre-Wash and Wax
All Cleaned Up
WoOt! Let’s hear it for hiring BACK people, people!
Good to hear.
I am very glad you had a good time.
My electric bill dropped in half. I am not sure if it is the new air conditioner or because the time I did not have one. It dropped from 101 KWH this month last year to 58 KWH this month. Wow, they said my new air conditioner was “Green” but I did not expect that much change. I will see how it is next month. The bills in the summer can be very high in Florida.
My Brother lives in JAX, his central air just died, Completley DED. He is not happy about replacing it, but no choice in FLA in the summer. he is getting by with a window unit, our mother bought in 1972, I can’t imagine it is very efficient, but it is still working.
on the cool side. Here in PA, i have not turned my AIR on yet this year.
The outside temp. was 95. Replacing the house air conditioner was not a choice. We then had 99 decrees thankfully after the air conditioner was replaced. The unit is fantastic but it did cost almost $7000. I will get $1500 back from my taxes and some from my power bill. I am cool and as far south as I am I had to spend the money. It really messed with our budget but having a house these days is a blessing. My home is 16 years old now and so everything is breaking at the same time. Smaller electric bills is so far the only savings.
My parents beat me if i leave the door open:D
It really is pretty hot outside, i walked to get the paper this morning, it was bad.
Yay! Every bit of that has got to feel fan-frakkin-tatsic!
whistles Pretty!
Hubba-hubba! Go you!
Meanwhile, D.C., which should be frakking UNBEARABLE this time of year, has been having a rather mild summer. Weird…
Maybe Florida made mother nature mad.
Mild winter, Mild summer. I could get used to the global warming thing.
