It has been tense but I just found out an hour ago that we got financing approved and we are getting a new (to us) Pontiac Vibe. It is an 05 with less than 40K on it and it is pretty red. Our current car is limping along so this is really good. Woot.

Saw the Nine Inch Nails-Jane’s Addiction tour last night. Last NIN tour. Janes’ first full tour with original bassist since Lollapalooza. What a difference he makes. Frakkin’ amazing, all the way around. I think the tour wraps tonight. Don’t matter where you are, drop what you’re doing and go see it. You won’t be disappointed.
Spent today and yesterday frantically working on a short story that I kind of poked at back in February and finished it. Now to get my butt back on my goal of getting something published this year!
I’m one bill away from paying off all the old bills that accumulated this winter during my fruitless job hunt. It feels good to think about paying for things in the present instead of the past.
That’s pretty damn cool. Is it hard to turn them into micro PC’s?
The only cool thing is that my friend took me and my two large dogs in after my air conditioning went out. I may have to visit her all day tomorrow.

Karmic balance here: my folks come into town this afternoon. They haven’t seen Elena since she was six months old and I’m certainly looking forward to seeing that interaction.
(Leah, I feel your lack of AC pain, by the way. I’m driving around DC in the summer with no AC in my car and working from home with the AC still set on school year time, meaning it’s off during the day. Yesterday I had the ceiling fan and a huge floor fan running at full speed while I worked at the computer. Ugh!)
I found a firefly in my freezer last night. He was lying on his back, with his stiff legs up in the air and his glow-butt half faded. I picked him out, cupped him in my hand, and breathed on him. His glow-butt brightened with each breath, but he didn’t move at first. I thot he was a goner. Then he started wiggling his legs, and he rolled over and skittered around my hand flapping his wings. I took him to the front door and released him back into the world.
It was a good night.
Yeah- we reaaaaally don’t need people to just start combusting!
