Cool craaaaaap you've acquired/done lately

Where is the Intense Jeleously smiley?

Congratulations, Craprica! You have taken your first steps into a larger world.

Wait, no…you’ve been working at this for a long time. You took that first step a long time ago. Keep up the good work and keep wowing them.

Wait a minute…you were in Washington and didn’t say hello? I call shenanigans, Casilda!

Oh…I can’t stay mad at you.

(Perhaps it’s time to start thinking of the northeast U.S. meet up that Raemani suggested a couple of months back…)

I conducted at the frakking Kennedy Center last night. It was a very strange program, since my group, which plays mostly hard core contemporary concert music (which has a reputation for not being the most audience friendly), shared the bill with a chorus made up mostly of current and former congressional staffers who sang a program of very straightforward choral music. The results? Standing ovations all around and people coming up to us who “don’t normally like modern music” and saying how much they loved it and how they’re going to start checking out our concerts.

Mission accomplished? Well, perhaps not. But a step in the right direction.

Even cooler still (I almost forgot): Elena slept through the night last night, and I got to sleep till 10:00 today, after a week averaging three hours’ sleep every night. I feel good this morning.

If I could have, I would have. We didn’t even get up there until 1 (people were not ready when I asked them to be) and then managed to cover 2 museums and the whole National Mall. Dinner with my mother, and we didn’t get back home until 3 AM.

However, I’d definitely like to get back up to Washington if I get the chance. It was much easier with a car!

That sounds like a fabulous concert! It’s great that it seems to have opened more people up to the kind of music you guys are playing, congrats!

I tell my students that I have 5 years to I may retire. They have to graduate before then. I have several of my students graduating this year. Cool isn’t it.

Sleep? Isn’t that unnatural for a parent?

WE got a new webcam at work for doing video Webinaars. Its got full motion tracking on it. As in it will follow you around the room. But i now feel i work at Jabbas Palace now. Echuta??

Oooh… neat webcam!

Got Spock cup.

Went to graduation and saw my students get sent out to the “real world”. Sniff I am so proud.

Congrats. One of my friends just graduated from your school. W00t for grad parties.

So I’m sitting here on the couch, trying to get as much lesson planning done BEFORE classes start next week as possible, and I keep flipping the channels around to find the least offensive programming (so far, That 70s Show and now Bones). And who appears on Bones but… Gina Torres! Yay!

I’m somewhat distracted now. whoops. :stuck_out_tongue:

I just bought 6 NES consoles. I’m gonna strip them down and make ones that work properly, possibly even a NESputer.

Mmmm, nerdy weekends. YEY!

You had me at strip them down…

Well the coolest thing I have done is 3 weeks ago My son was Born!

Yeaaah baybeeeeee

Congrats! First child?
