I got my contract from the NGA today. That means that the money they’ve owed me since October is but ten days from its return away. Woot!
Just recieved our Guitar Hero World Tour Drums back. The first ones broke. 
But these ones work great!

We bought GHWT and Rock Band (using GHWT instruments). I didn’t think I would like it as much as I do; but the whole family rocks together about once per week. I missed our jam sessions when the drums died, but the new ones are in and we’re rockin’ away again.

My husband drums as a hobby, so he knows the difference. It’s the first Wii game he will play, and of course he can play as expert right out of the box. They do seem close to the synth-drums he has been reduced to (too close to the neighbours for real drums and he can play at night with his head phones on.) But they arn’t even as good as those. But he will play – so it’s family fun time.
GHWT drums are slightly closer to the real thing that the GHWT guitars are to the real thing. But just slightly.
One day I will win the lottery and set up a studio with real drums just for him. He pines for the real thing.
A friend of ours plays guitar and was a semi professional in Croatia. His son is an expert guitar player in Guitar Hero. Our friend tried to play the guitar and was beyond frustrated with it. He said the timing and the movements are nothing like a real guitar and he couldn’t make the switch.
But me, I be having fun!

Tell him i pitty him, my neighbors can’t hear, and i am soo happy about it. If you dont care about neighbor’s feelings then go to your local City hall and find the hours he is legally allowed to play. There are laws that mandate that he is legaly allowed to play at certian times.

Which explains why I can play expert on Guitar Hero but can’t play a real guitar at all (The closest I get to a string instrument is a piano…).
Actually this reminds me of the South Park episode “guitar queer-o”… 
The piano’s not a string instrument. It’s considered a percussion instrument (see the little hammers strike the strings, so it’s like percussion), or a keyboard (if you want to get REALLY technical, it’s a zither).
Just sayin’.

Thanks, Rachel. My wife had to temp for one more day today, so she’s had to move the interview to tomorrow. She thinks they’re very interested, though, from what she’s been able to gather on the phone. We’ll see…

So this one is going to require a little explanation.
I play piano, and ever since I started playing I’ve kept track of my practices. Every time i practice, get a lesson, go to or play in a concert, i get a “sticker” (i used to actually get a sticker, now i just mark it down.) every 200 “stickers”, my dad would make a logo, (and then print it on a tshirt) that would say “200 piano practices!” i think you guys will enjoy my most recent one:-)
the number in the bottom right is the date i got my 3400th “sticker”. you guys should recognize the font its in…
