Cool craaaaaap you've acquired/done lately

I just finished our taxes. I say this every year, but this year I mean it: next year, I’m going to an accountant.

Wow! I got a new job closer to the family, so I’m not commuting 5+ hrs each way to see them only on the weekends. Sure, I’m living at the in-law’s, but I can now see my 3-year old daughter almost every night. Mrs. Toaster finally got a job (at the same place) after being unemployed for 13 months. And I got a new computer, so I can belly up to the GWC once again (after a year hiatus). Did I miss anything guys? Like a name change, fantasy sci-fi, birth of a daughter? Craa-aaaaap!

Just a couple of things. Now you can get those last 80-ish posts in so you can join the OG gang! And welcome back!!

It feels funny. Like I was an exchange student for a year, and when I got back I find they added a wing to the school and there are a ton of new kids. But cool kids. Anyway, thanks, it’s good to be back.

Welcome back, LT! I’m glad things are starting to finally settle down for you.

Having my taxes done always pays for itself. Not to mention the time and aggravation it spares me. A cat like you who has a couple different projects going, I’m sure you could write off a healthy chunk o’change.

I simply LOVE movie props. Just got this replica of the map from Time Bandits!

I also bought one of these whiskey glasses:

It is the same as Deckard uses in Blade Runner.

It is expensive to be a geek sometimes.

Welcome back and congratulations on the jobs.

Knock on wood. And I hope things are going as well for you these days, sir.

Thanks.

And to both of you, it’s good to see that there are still some avatars I’ll recognize. (even though that’s a new wolf on Leah …I think)

eeeee!!! Sold!

Yes, it is a new, gentler wolf. You have a good memory.

I knew I couldnt be the only one buying this stuff!

I knew I couldnt be the only one buying this stuff!

Of corse no one else seems to like Blade Runner like I do. At least not enough to search out Deckards whiskey glass.

i just got two paintball pistols that i won on ebay!!!1:cool:

If we’re going on a consumer madness binge  Ordered some ThinkGeek t-shirts I’ve been eyeing for awhile. Maybe soon it will be warm enough that people can actually see my shirts from under my sweaters and sweatshirts lol.

Due to the untimely death of my Logitech universal remote (see the B&M thread), I am now the proud owner of a fancy new Logitech universal remote. And a few other goodies from a tech/parts site that I can’t live without…

Just went flying!!! Haven’t been up since 9/15 (I’ve been broke broke broke).

I was totally expecting to need to borrow a power pod to jump start it, but my battery worked like a champ and it fired right up!

I could barely see through the windscreen, but a quick visit to the airport washing station let me knock a pound of dirt or so off the wings & glass.

So I’m finally current again! I plan on doing a lot of catch-up flying in the next few months if business stays good, for sure!

Two pics, one of me grinning like an idiot, and another out the window as I approach my airport:

We just bought our first iMac. Made the switch from a PC. I am in HEAVEN. This computer rocks. I love the magic mouse.

There’s a big snake in the plane, Jacques!! I hate snakes Jacque! I hate 'em!

I have about 3-4 snakes on my plane. I mean, come on, why WOULDN’T I? That’s one of the main reasons to own your own!

I move them around the plane whenever it’s in the shop. I’ll put one at the end of the wing (around eye level), for instance. That’s gotten him a few times. Another time, I put it under the control panel so he was staring right at one when he slid under to check out some wiring. Apparently he swore loud enough to get someone to come out and check to make sure everything was ok.
