Cool craaaaaap you've acquired/done lately

Um, what the hell is a Facebook Gold account and why is it telling me that I need one?

There’s no such thing, hence the ‘bait’. Each of the ‘pictures’ is that same badge.

There are always suckers joining groups with names like “NO I WON’T PAY $3.99 A MONTH FOR FACEBOOK!!!” and so on, this just feeds their paranoia while simultaneously offering an exciting learning opportunity.

Oh, that’s evil! Imma share it. (:

Well, D’OH! Funny, though.

i thought i was almost out of the running to win the season prize of a 32" LCD TV in the local paper’s NFL Pick 'em Contest so I picked the Saints, knowing I’d have to beat three people ahead of me to win out. What I didn’t know is that they throw out your worst four weeks, and I had some terrible weeks, and long story short was that I won the final weekly price ($25 at a local Mexican place) AND the season-long contest. Now I don’t have to replace my ailling HDTV mysel! Wahoo!

I just used some hot Tea to melt the choclate off my Twix bar. I got it just to the point where the chocolate and carmel started to melt into the Tea. Delicous! For both the Twix and the Tea!

Yet another productive day at the office!

The hook is baited.

Totally got me too!

Karma balance post: I had a very good job interview tomorrow. One more hoop to jump through in the morning, then…well, I was supposed to go home, but the snow gods have other plans, evidently.

Where at? You going away?

Keep warm and good Karma sent to you on your interview tour.

Wife and I have been going out to do Karaoke every week for a while now. I’m still terrified to go up on stage, but I’m getting better. We had fun, this week we sang a duet: “Meet me halfway” by the Black Eyed Peas. Super catchy song, btw.

Ok, not sure if this is ‘cool’, but the B&M thread seems waaaay too heavy for this, so I’ll post here. My mirror is leaking. I’m not sure how this happens, but a bathroom mirror at my house is spraying water whenever I take a shower, and I’m pretty sure that’s not right.

I guess it’s cool from the perspective of “hey, I have a wicked cool Poltergeist themed house!”

Are you one of those couples who take Karaoke super seriously?

Leaky pipe running directly behind the mirror? Although personally I would prefer it to be a haunting situation.

Possibly. It’s at Indiana University, South Bend. The interview process is now done and I’ve been given something of an informal assessment that confirms my feelings that it went very well. They still have two other candidates coming, so we’ll see.

I have another interview the week after next and had a couple of other nibbles recently. Oh, and the Peabody has a full time gig opening up in my department to which I plan on applying so that I have the option of staying too. So, we’ll see. Either way, I don’t plan to go completely away as I’m not ready to give up my group in Washington. As I told the dean here this morning: my goal/plan has always been to cast as wide a net as possible, professionally.

But, if I’m gainfully employed, I could actually attend NEXT year’s meet up.

No way, I suck at Karaoke. My wife is awesome, but she does it because she likes to sing. I like to go and hang out with her and our friends, and am terrified whenever I have to go up on stage. And no, we don’t have a machine at home that we practice on.

No leaky pipe behind the mirror, because it’s actually spraying outwards about 8 inches. It is… perplexing.

Woot!

My family went to IU.

A friend of mine wants to see Avatar this weekend, and I haven’t seen it in 3D yet. We’re going on Saturday. Also, the test I have on Meet-up Friday may be moved to a more convenient date and time.

AEG: It’s a pretty great film, I’ve seen it 5 times so far. I just read the original script and it rocked like crazy, too bad that’s not what they filmed, but the film is still excellent.

I saw it on opening day and loved it, but I haven’t seen it in 3D yet.

As of this semester, I am the last Society of Women Engineers officer still in the college of engineering. Our president has decided to step down, meaning that I am now president!

(down side: we don’t have a new vice president, meaning I still have to do all of that stuff too)
