Had a great afternoon with my son, BrettAZ, at the Can’t Stop The Serenity screening. It was incredible to see Serenity on the big screen for the first time as well as Dr. Horrible. I won the Dr. Horrible costume contest (though I’m not sure that anyone else entered) and got a certificate (for bragging) and $50 gift card to a great used bookstore. It was so fun being around Browncoats and fellow geeks. On the way home in the car, BrettAz & I sang “My Eyes” together, which was the best part of the day for me.

I’m so happy to be out of the B&M thread for a change!

I started work on my Starship Troopers ‘Arachnid’ costume today, that was exciting! I’ve modified an army backpack to attach the rear legs, mocked up some arm skeletons for the forward legs, and got some other supplies for it.

My house smells like PVC glue, I love it! That always means there’s a fun project in progress.

I just got back from a long weekend in London with Fiance Yey, we went to comic shops, where I finally found a NECA April O’Neil figure, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, British Museum, an awesome gallery of Victorian wax anatomical models, we saw Wicked (my 8th time, his first) and had a fantastic, EXPENSIVE hotel room with a HUGE bed and a TV that almost filled the wall.

I haven’t heard anything bad about windows 7 from people I know. As opposed to Vista which most people hated the RC.

Windows 7 is the first MS OS in over a decade that I’ve been excited to try. Supposedly it scales really well even for Netbooks.

Myself included: I hated it so much I downgraded to XP first chance I got, and my computer actually ran smoother.

I don’t want to say excited to try it, but more curious. Its basically a Vista rehash with all the errors fixed, and more compatible, as far as I know. Either way, I definitely do want to give it a chance.
