If the ebay gods shine down on me and want my dreams to come true, then this sweet fedora will be heading to my house in a week:D
I met William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Kate Mulgrew, Dwight Schultz and many other cool people this past weekend
Also, I bought a sword. Overall it was a “two sword” con. Pretty good actually.
Grats!
Can you share a pic of the sword? What kind?
I’ll try to post something later maybe. However, it is just a cheapo replica US cavalry sword. (for a steampunk costume I’m working on)
The wife bought some sorta Link sword or something. It is still in the box so I haven’t actually seen it yet.
We have student TV news every day. Today one of the students was in a DR. Horrible T-Shirt. The black one with a hammer. I want to find the kid to see how many of his friends have a clue about what it means.
Oh DUH! THAT’S where Nathan Fillion is in Solai’s current avatar. I’m such a frakking idiot!
The Mrs. came home with this for me today:
SQUEE!!!
Meh, it can’t compare
5 days till I win this auction:D
This is even more exciting then Stargate’s impending return:)
I’d call that hat cunning, but that would give the wrong impression.
Good wife you got there.
No, it can’t. Two different genres, two ultimately different aesthetics. They elicit similar Dyonisian responses, though.
Good wife you got there.
Yep. She is.
The thing I’m probably the most grateful for is the experience I’m having listening to these recordings. It literally feels like the first time I’ve heard these, the remixes are so crisp and clear. I’m noticing details I didn’t know were there. There are so many things I wish I could replicate this experience with (Star Wars, for instance) and it’s so rare to experience something so familiar to you as if with new senses that, frankly, I’m in nirvana tonight.
(Actually, I was never into Nirvana.)
Which is funny 'cause i kinda have always thot that Nirvana was the Beatles of the 90’s. With the impact they had on music
Ringo could only dream of having as much talent in his whole body that Jimmy Cobb has in his left nut:p
I prefer the word “clever”
I am enjoying chocolate chip cookies and milk. Somethings never get old.
Do you dip em? I’m an eight to ten second person myself.
Yeah. Maybe. I need to go back and revisit them. During the 90’s I wasn’t paying too much attention to pop music (not that I am now, but I do take it more seriously). I just never found Kurt Kobain nearly as interesting a songwriter as someone like John Lennon. Then again, I also used to think Dylan was overrated, but I’ve changed my mind about him in the last year and a half, so go figure. Maybe it’s time for a reassesment.
Ringo’s talent is highly underrated, Boxy. When you’re older and a more sophisticated musician with a better developed ear, you’ll understand.
Rock n’ roll is about something else entirely than Jazz. But listen to the drumming on “Something” or “A Day in the Life” and then tell me Ringo wasn’t talented. He may have not been flashy, but he was (I can’t bring myself to say “is,” given some of the crap he’s bestowed upon the world since 1970) a terrific, very musical drummer with a strong melodic sense for his instrument. (In a way, he does have more in common with Jazz drummers than with later rock drummers, actually.)
Think about what The Beatles’ legacy would’ve been like had they never fired Pete Best. The guy could literally only play two patterns.
