Is anybody watching the Law and Order episode going on right now? The funniest thing I’ve seen since the last episode of Community
loved it. one of those rare moments when Jeff actually got to be a hero this season.
AHAH! “Basic Lupine Urology”! Now THAT is how you do a Dick joke. Great episode. Loved the title sequence. And the guest cameo of the opposing lawyer.
And the M.E.!?!?!
And Michael K. “Omar Little” Williams saying his trademark line from The Wire and Dean Stanton speaking for the rest of us in the audience.
Yup the law and order send up was great stuff.
As a side note … HULU PLUS has an original content called “Day in the Life”. There is an episode with Joel Mchale with some very funny behind the scenes aspect of The Soup and Community. Well work a look if you hulu. There is some coverage for the season three finale taping and rehearsal.

As an amateur-wannabe-still-studying-the-craft writer, I hope y’all give new talent the benefit of the doubt.
Take a show like Supernatural - it’s doing fine under the helm of Sera Gamble after Erik Kripke, the show creator/runner left.

I would definitely still watch the new Community and I think it could very well be a good show, but I think for all intents and purposes, the Community we’ve known for the past 3 seasons has ended (with a really strong finish of those last 3 episodes, so at least there’s that).
It’s not to knock the new showrunners - I like their past projects like Happy Endings and Aliens in America, both good shows, so I know they are good writers who are good at their jobs and will do their best to make season 4 of Community a good show - and obviously, at the very least, we still have the same lovely awesome cast, but the thing that is different between Supernatural and Community is that Community is so quinessentially the voice of its showrunner (like Mad Men/Weiner, like Chase/Sopranos, etc), whereas Supernatural isn’t. Harmon’s vision, his point of view IS -well, WAS - the show. It’s not about whether the new showrunners are better or worse than Harmon, it’s that they aren’t him and can’t be him. So it’s not their fault for not being Harmon, lol. And Sony was going to fire Harmon anyway, if it weren’t these two guys, Sony would hire someone else.
But it doesn’t remedy the situation. Which is that Community did get axed, even though it’ll still be back next fall. And I will look at it as a new show, basically, with a cast I love and writers that seem capable of delivering a funny if not ambitious show. (which is probably the better way to go than endlessly comparing it to S1-3).
Come to think if it; a more apt comparison would be made with Stargate SG-1 where the old show kinda ended (& I’d quote the show runners on that!) with the death of the Goa’uld and rebooted with the introduction of the Ori (the wraith being within the realm of Stargate Altantis)
It’s like Supernatural too, when the show runner left after the 5th season… Season 6 felt very different from season 3, 4, 5. Season 7 also. It’s just a different show.
“Bagged and Boarded” podcast had a good interview with Megan Ganz. She discusses her career as a writer and how she got the job writing for “The Onion” and Community.

The Hawthrone video game episode was my favorite episode of the third season, and I don’t know if everyone knows that fans actually are making the video seen in the episode playable for real.

Hi Everyone, newbie Obi-Rus here, just wanted to touch base with other Community fans (and Mass Effect fans) and just wanted to get your thoughts about some fan artwork i did, about 2 months ago I was playing Mass Effect 3 and it just struck me how much Mordin Solus reminded me Abed, which led me to think that Jeff Winger is Cmdr. Shepard (with his speeches and leadership), Troy is as Brotastic as Garrus, Pierce is the battle tested old grumpy Krogan (Wrex or Wreav depending on how you view Pierce) and although my Fiance and I had a debate on whether Annie was driven more like Miranda or a girl next door like Tali. (I did the guy thing and made the call for her as Miranda) and so on until I was able to mash up most of the characters. Had a pretty good response on my blogs when I posted the artwork and a way to help support the show I love. I would love to know what you guys think? =)
