I won’t be able to meetup for the 08 comic con, but I am already planning to be at Comic Con in 09. Need to allow plenty of time to save up money for geek stuff.
Kag1, I absolutely love your Sig picture. The cat doesn’t look so happy about it, but he’s doing good service for the sake of our humor. Are those eyes really that blue or were they colorized?
I went to a small conference (for work) at the San Diego convention center back in March. The conference took up only one small ballroom and handfull of meeting rooms. And I friend told me, “When they old Comic Con it fills up the WHOLE convention center.” Looking at how huge it is, I found that hard to get my mind around. Anyway, wish I wangle a way to be there, but sadly it won’t happen.
Per a friend (who lives in San Diego), per the Comic Con website the 4 day tickets are sold out, I am sure the day tickets won’t be far behind.
I am not going to Comic Con (I am going to it’s little sister - Dragon*Con), but thought I would let you know if you haven’t gotten your tickets yet you may want to buy them pronto

Thanks ThotfullGuy. The pic was emailed to me by a friend. I am a huge cat lover but I cannot claim this one as my own. I would imagine that the eyes were colored, but it still makes for a funny pic.
Pizza sounds great! I’m in! But I will not be arriving until late Wednesday night, so I can’t do one then. But if you do it one of the other days, I will be there.

Saturday’s sold out, Friday getting close. I could only manage Friday, but I’d love to meet up with some GWC folk. I know bkitty’ll be there as well

My friend Derrick (He is a BSG fan) will be there on Thursday night, so I’ll probably be busy Friday and Saturday, but since there is no schedule posted yet , I’m not sure what my plans are.
Well any day that there is a BSG panel we should probably meetup at the panel and then we can go to Krunch’s Pizza place after ward

I have still not seen any schedule posted yet, it would be nice to meet at a panel and then go to Krunch’s Pizza place. Or at a set time after events at the con, the hours at the con are 9:30am to 7:00pm

Where is Krunch’s pizza place? The Gaslamp? We can go anywhere, even a bit away from the epicenter, unless there are travel issues? I wonder how many we’ll get for the meetup?

I am so glad the schedule is finally up- I know it’s going to be a zoo to get in to the big rooms, sigh.
Last year I stayed in Ballroom 20 for the whole day on Saturday, BSG , Heroes, Bionic Woman, …etc. At least they have big screens in the rooms for the people in the back. Hopefully Krunch will post the address of the Pizza place, once he reads these posts.
my plans are not yet firm (iykwim ;)) I may be carpooling, in which case–less flexibility. I’ll keep you updated as events unfold.
Hello All! I just checked this thread and noticed some activity! Friday night sounds good. I do have to be somewhere around 10 p.m. But that shouldn’t be a problem.
As far as my pizza place: It’s called Pierre’s Place (www.pierresplace.org). I don’t own it but I oversee it as one of my projects. Anyway, we’re walking distance from the Gaslamp (in the Cortez Hill area of downtown, which is more of a business district). Since I made the original offer to host a meet-up, we’ve started closing a bit earlier in the evening. So that could be a factor in whether people still want to go there. The other factor is that we don’t serve alcohol.
So, if we’re meeting a bit later in the evening, and if people would like to get a drink, we might want to stick closer to the Gaslamp. Since there are approximately 3 billion restaurants in the Gaslamp, that shouldn’t be a problem!
What do people want to do? If we’re going someplace else, do people have a preference for a particular place or type of food?
I saw this, too! I love MST3K. That’s a pretty steep ticket price, though. I haven’t made up my mind yet on whether to attend…
The Gaslamp’s fine- there are plenty of places to go- the hub and I are casual- no major preferences, I think we should do a head count and time span.
The hub and i are free after the con and up for anything. We can be there, plus at least 1.
