I’m pretty sure it’s just a single episode

Cloak of Darkness
Wow what a great episode. The lightsaber fights were some of the best in the series. Luminara was a cool jedi character. Also Ventress was actually a threat unlike in “Ambush”. Her plans were very elaborate, and jokerish. No Droid jokes. I’d say the best episode yet.
I agree totally. I think the lightsaber battles in this series are top notch. Also i still really like the dark tones that this show is taking. I am surprised it is getting tv-pg ratings. This episode really should have been TV-14 for that last scene when Ventress stabs that guy thru the back. I’m really looking forward to next week. We get to see Kitt Fisto and it looks like it might be a pretty dark episode as well.
I just discovered you can stream the episodes at Starwars.com. Also they have mini-commentaries on each episode that fill in and explain why they do some things.
Agreed. I still have not seen the movie, and yet I am always drawn into the TV series episodes, which I’ve been Tivoing for the kids. The lightsaber fight was long, technically awesome, and extremely well-done, and yes, I actually wondered about the violence aspect of this last one too…by then it was too late of course. But it’s not a deal breaker or anything, and I don’t see them going any further than that as far as violence, do you? This series has surprised me, in a good way!
Yea, I jsut watched the movie. Its ok. It really is just a 3 part episode put together. I think they could have done a better movie by using the Malevolence 3 part episode as the movie. I think the movie could have been put together a little bit better editing wise. They introduce a character late in the film that would be more beneficial to add in earlier. The movie also has the feeling of 3 very different sections the first third of which really has nothing to do with the second parts. But it is worth watching so you can see how Anakin and Asaka meet and also how Anakin gets his ship.
It was a little weak but I gotta give 4 stars just because we get to see a little Hutt. Of course Jabba’s uncle may have scared me for life.
i would tend to agree…
The episode with Jar-jar in it is really the only one where I felt the series is aiming at children.
Most of the other episodes has things that I don’t think should get an PG rating. Just because it’s droids and clones getting shot and their heads cut off doesn’t mean it is ok.
But I am fine with the PG rating, i guess mostly because I don’t have kids so I don’t really care But the overall tone of the series is still pretty dark.
Ventress is turning out nicely. Her plans are awesome in this episode and it worked. For all the the the Vedi master’s talks about her bad form, she sure kicked everyone’s rear end in this episode.
It all goes back to that whole thing about Jedi keeping their anger at bay. It’s always been my belief that when a force wielding person gets really good and mad they can really cut loose and kick butt. Case and point: Luke finally taking down Vader in Jedi.
if that’s the case, you’d think at some point over the thousands of years of Jedi history, someone would figure out “trash talking” during a light-saber" battle is not a good strategy…
Wise and powerful Jedi are not always smart.
so they were the equivalent of NBA player of their universe
So would that mean Hockey players are the Sith
Darth Gretzky did try to take over the galaxy with his Death Puck
Just watched Duel of the Droids for real this time (not during the commercials of Stargate), liked it a lot better then the other episodes I watched. The droid humor was kept to a minimum, which helped. Action was top notch. Anikin’s voice still annoyed me though. I’ll probably check out some more when they are posted on StarWars.com.
I’m also really digging the music they use for some reason. I think its the classic star wars sounds with more beats.
I think Duel of Droids is one of my fav episodes thus far. Its defiantly top 3. Like i said before watching R2 fight was pretty Bad SorryBarb. and his fighting wasn’t completely comical like it was in Ep 3 this one was pretty brutal, or as brutal as you can get with two Astromechs fighting.
The other two favs would probably be The last episode and the New Recruits episode.
yup, that’s pretty much how it’s ranked for me too. But the last episode, the Cloak of Darkness was really awesome.
The first couple of episodes feels random and disconnected, but as the season went one, the stories are more cohesive. The characters are also developing, and I am liking Asoka a lot now. She is the least Jedish Jedi there ever will be
Few comments on this last episode:
-Droids dont like being called by their shortened names. I guess many of those beeps R2-D2 makes after just being called “Artoo” are expletives.
-Senate Guards are major dicks.
-Whats the deal with the giant window next to the escape pods? So the people
left behind can contemplate their deaths as they watch their friends escape to live another day? Empire is evil.
-Why do bad guys love stabbing people from behind through their chests?
because if she wanted to stab him in the front, she’d have to stand on the console…
Well im just saying.
They seem to enjoy killing people from behind by igniting their lightsabers while the victim is talking about something.
Grevious did it to that junk dealer, now Ventress did it to the Senate Guard.
Cant they do something with a bit more flare?
