They’ve totally done homages to other shows/genres, I guess since I’m not familiar with 24 I haven’t picked up on so many of them.

Yeah, this episode wasn’t much with the banter, though considering the subject matter, not surprising.

Well, it is better with the 2nd half, and I love Castle’s just grabbing all the wires (I literally laughed out loud), but still I don’t think it’s one of the strongest of the 2-parters. Or even, of the 1 parters.
Yeah I think even some of the other eps–like “Knockdown”–were stronger.
The worst part might be the fact that it didn’t advance any character relations. I mean Castle being disappointed at Kate being with someone else and acted like he is fine isn’t news… they’ve done it more than once. so… it isn’t a big impact.
I also laughed out loud. On any other show, with any other actor, I would have found that part terribly cheesy. Somehow Nathan pulled it off. Because he’s amazing. 
I LOL’d from sheer relief. My eyes were filled with tears. So well played.
