Cast your own Star Trek crew

You have been given the task to create a Star Trek series, casting your own crew. They can be from any era; dead or alive. Who would play your ideal Captain? Would you utilize more dramatic or comedic actors?

Bascially you need 8 characters. Here is a template, but feel free to embellish:

Communications / Counsoler (Scifi Babe/Hunk)

Kinda stole this idea, don’t hate me. The folks that do MakeItSo tackled it and I wanted to hear what the HIVEMIND would come up with.

Here’s my list:

Captain - Charlton Heston
First Officer - Kevin Spacey
Medical (Doctor) - Katharine Hepburn
Helmsman/Navigator (Ops) - Ingrid Bergman
Security (Tactical) - Humphrey Bogart
Science - Audrey Hepburn
Engineer - Marlon Brando
Communications / Counsoler (Scifi Babe/Hunk) - Marilyn Monroe

And get this, in the first episode they meet up with a derelict ship filled with escaped prisoner telepaths played by:
Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly, Monica Bellucci, Salma Hayek, Scarlett Johansson, and Catherine Zeta-Jones

This is a cool idea and Talos has started it off quite nicely. I would like to see Audrey as an Engineer (She is just that type of woman IMO :cool:), Heston as the “Damn Dirty” Admiral, Brando as Captain and perhaps Henry Fonda at Science.

Since Talos has tied up all the heavy hitters :wink: I will go with an all Asian cast.

To begin with I would cast Admiral “Too cool to be named at this time” - Takashi Shimura

I would follow it up with a bad (Sorrybarb) villain - Chow Yun-Fat

Your picks are KITTEH!! I forgot to mention that you should give names to the cast and maybe describe their personality a bit. For example, the Marilyn Monroe character would be named Lt. Tesla Titillatin and well let’s face it, her personality is Marilyn.

While I was going through mine I thot about how amazing the script would have to be to get the caliber of actors involved in this. Not to mention getting past the whole being dead thing. It would have to take place sort of like dining theatre at the Restaurant at the end of the Universe, where anybody could be there.

My disfunctional TNG cast.

Captain - Michael Hogan

Plays the disfunctional Picard. Except the Baldness and decisiveness, nothing else is right. Especially not very diplomatic.

First Officer - James Callis

Plays the disfunctional Riker. Except the beard tricks and womanizing talents, nothing else is right.

Medical (Doctor) - Sarah Palin

Plays the disfunctional Beverly Crusher. Except the older lady who used to be hot part, nothing else is right. Especially lacks medical skills, unless it’s a moose that needs to be dressed.

Helmsman/Navigator (Ops) - Tom Cruise

Plays the even more disfunctional Wesley Crusher.

My disfunctional TNG cast.

Security (Tactical) - Mike Tyson

Plays Worf. Actually not disfunctional at all. Since Worf is the disfunctional Klingon. MT will be the perfect Klingon.

Engineer - Martin Lawrence

Plays La Forge. Probably the least disfunctional of this group. The man’s gotta fix the Warp drive.

Communications / Counsoler (Scifi Babe/Hunk) - Sarah Silverman

Plays the disfunctional Troy. She’s hot and smart like Troy. But a lot more fun and perverted.

My Trek would bring action back to Trek by going the DS9 route. This show would be part Mission Impossible, part Bridge over the river Kwai, part Guns of Navarone!

My ship would be a Secion 31 vessel ( the USS Flemming ). The setting for the show is during The Dominion War. The mission would be to handle bussiness… A Defient Class Vessel, with a cloaking device, without supervising Romulans! episodes might be rescueing agents behind enemy lines, supporting resistance on Betazed, ferreting out spies, testing new weapons, … misson impossible in space! Becuase of the nature of the missions and section31… the betazed is the only alien cast member. ( but I would have many reaccuring aliens , in the tradition of Rohm, Garrek, Nagus, moogie, and Nog!

Captain - Commander Jakob Douglas played by Robert Patrick. Ship captain who has not been an agent, but a secret Maquis within Starfleet. He was a vetren and POW during the Cardasian conflict ( pre-tng) and a suspected Maquis sympathizer. Section 31 has blackmailed him into takeing command, or else be exposed as Maquis. He is VERY predjudiced against Cardi’s and has to deal with it. Usualy he commands the ship while the first officer commands the mission! This doesn’t sit well with Douglas.

First Officer - Lt Comander Dalen Freel ( Betazoid) played by Matthew Bennett. expierieced section 31 agent. By the book ( the secton 31 book!). Uses his mental abilitys in his spying and in his abilitys to ferret out the truth. The captain doesn’t trust him. Most missions in the field involve his away team.

Communications ( Linguistics ) Lt Commander Gala ( 3rd in command, and usualy the field operative when the mission involves undercover and role play. She is played by Morena Baccarin. She is an El-Aurian ( but only 60 years old- her parents were refugee’s rescued by the Enterprise B with sauran and Guninan before she was born ). She was the Captains best friend at his previous command. Althou she was on a section 31 mission to “get the goods” on him in order to blackmail him into section 31, they really are friends. She trusts him completely… as for her… he is quickly remebering why they are friends. She speaks most of the known threat race languages like a native and is a specialist in the Borg ( they wiped out her parents home!)

Medical - Doctor Amira Nadal played by Freema Agyeman. Unlike past Star Trek doctors Nadal isn’t a general practice surgeon but a special opperations Emergency Combat Sugeon. She is a part doctor, part combat medic! She is as handy with a phaser as a hypo!
