actually, she said that the blood came from a bio-feedback, so that she feels what Zoe-actual feels. And even if she suggested that you could recreate anyone with enough data like that, I think it only really worked with her because she had the original template.

Question. since the Downloading came from the Final 5 from Earth, if Cylon Zoe dies is she dead?
I believe she would be, but how could she be killed? by wiping the computer memory on one of the holobands or something? altho now it seems she has taken a more, shiny form
Did Daniel download a copy of “Zoe” onto his flash drive, or did he download “Zoe”? If he downloaded a copy, then isn’t there a Zoe in the cylon body, and a Zoe still in the holo-world?
Based on the reaction Daniel had when Cylon Zoe first failed and during the fighting Cylon scene, and the lack of Zoe in the dark space, Id say he didnt copy the file.
Why do they always do that in TV/movies? I mean, sure, I can see how it helps as a plot device. But still, all the time I find myself watching stuff (especially sci-fi) and yelling at the screen “Control-C! Control-C you fools!”
Other than that it was pretty good, with of course the big caveat of “2010? dammit!”

I quite enjoyed it - even though spouse was disappointed that the end was just kind of left open. And that the series isn’t until 2010. Well to be fair, 2010! That’s like a long time. Oh, to be fans of BSG and its spinoff…

The Fall of the Twelve Colonies at the beginning of BSG occured about 40 years after the end of the Cylon War. The Cylon War lasted about 12.5 years. Therefore, Caprica is beginning about 5.5 years before the beginning of the Cylon War. This would make William Adama 29 years old the day the armistace was signed, ending the Cylon War.
Hmm. I don’t know if I would necessarily call it Frankenstein, more like the hologram tehnology from (oddly enough) Red Dwarf. But I also don’t think the writers implied that what Graystone did was right or wrong. He believed he was right, sure. And I don’t think Adams/Adama was “on the bandwagon” necessarily, either. Graystone had not given him many details at all. He just kind of sat him down and put the VR visor on him and said you’ll be able to see your daughter. My interpretation was that this was a new technology. (Adams tells Graystone that he’s seen the commercials.) I think that Adams expected to experience three-dimensional “moving pictures” of his daughter, not a thinking, feeling, reacting virtual person. No wonder he freaked and bailed.
And I don’t know what made me think so, but at the time, I assumed the two Larry’s were the same. Now, though, I think you’re right. If they were the same, why would they have given the “Demo” Larry the “By your command” voice and also show the “Zoe” Larry speaking with Zoe’s voice. It wouldn’t make sense for two different voices unless they were two different cylons.
yes they were two different cylons. I actually gasped when I realized that Daniel had actually trapped his daughter inside a metal body. It all makes sense though - Zoe Graystone is the reason the centurians believe in the one true God and therefore pass that on to the final five. She is probably also the reason that the centurians were trying to create skinjobs.

so the roomie and i just finished watching it a few hours ago after picking it up at the store.
i was mesmerized.
i only wish we’d had more time with the families in the beginning. the scene with the Graystone throwdown was great, if a bit unnerving - reminding me of family fights from when i was younger. and we never really saw the adams/adamas interact as a whole family unit.
i’m hoping that with the onset of the show, maybe there will be flashback scenes/episodes that give us more time with them as families.
bear’s music was great, did anyone catch the short reprise of adama’s theme in the scene towards the end where joseph talks to willie about thier name and heritage (LOL! kid adama is adorable, reminds me of my little smart ass cousin mason). it caught me off guard, but was a nice throwback to BSG musically, tying them together.
the show runner jane espenson has a cool interview up on televisionary, giving a nice little preview of waht to expect from the first season (no spoilers).
i think there was only the one cylon.
what i figured was that either through a fluke in the programming, or zoe’s own decision, she didn’t come through right away. but, the processor still worked, so daniel programmed it to the specifications he needed for the government contract.
later, zoe totally awakened into being in the cylon.
i wonder if this is something that will be part of the first season, like she is going to be in hiding from her father, or, if it was just a programming fluke and it took her a while to awaken after the initial failure.
that is all conjecture, but when the pilot script leaked online last year, i did read it, and there was some stuff missing in what finally made it to the screen. this was majorly interesting material, but incase they didn’t totally drop it, and just decided to save it for the series, i won’t talk about it here, but if anyone else read it, lemme know, we can make spoilery thread elswhere with lots of warnings for others.
The original cylon probably had windows as the OS, so it had to go through a lot of setting up and installing before the Zoe program could run properly.
