Caprica Canned

I understand your point, but I’m not there yet. I still believe if she had a productive outlet, like her father bringing her in to the project instead of outright stealing the idea, she might have been better off and not fallen into the STO crowd.

Wasn’t that made clearer in the episode where she fought Tamara and having visions/flashbacks with Head Zoe? I forget her exact words, but there was a moment where we saw past Zoe beginning to form an idea for avatar Zoe.

Really good article. Everyone should read it. Read it! I said READ IT!!

I second that!!! The article really pinpoints the reason why I love Caprica so much, despite its many flaws. All those ideas, and we won’t see how they come to fruition. Sigh.

Anyway, just got a chance to watch the first of the last five unaired on SF episode, and while
I could smell the two twists - STO’s test and Clarice killing the wrong lady - from a mile away, it was a damn good episode. There were finally some good bits for the Adamas that I actually enjoyed a little (which is rare for me), there’s the return of the paper iPad, there’s some interesting Lacey moments, there’s more Daniel which is always great, and finally, there were spaceships!
I can’t wait to see the rest of the final episodes, even though I know there wouldn’t be anymore after that

Seriously, every time this show starts getting into its groove, SF kicks it in the balls and hold the episodes back (or in this case, cancel it). No wonder it was impossible for the show to get any kind of momentum.

I liked Rubicon too (though to be fair, I didn’t like the finale at all, which seem to clash with the rest of the episodes tonally. So I can see why AMC had to cancel it - both for ratings reasons and creative reasons. I usually hate cliffhanger endings, but I almost wish that the penultimate episode was the finale, because for me that episode was a better representation of the show as a whole than the real finale did.). But I’m still going to miss all the characters, most of all Miles.

Has anyone been watching the final five via the Canadian aired eps? Just caught up with “The Dirteaters”, and it is so great to finally be convinced that the Adamas (well, other than William, who’s too much of a bit player on the show, though it was pretty funny to see how bad of a liar Bill Adama was as a child) can be interesting characters on the show. And it explains so much about the relationship between the brothers, and why Sam is the way he is, and why Joseph is the way he is. (Though given his history, I now think Joseph should have been written a little differently in the first 9 episodes of the series. I was having a lot of trouble relating to Joseph because I didn’t feel he was the same character between season 1 and 1.5, and I couldn’t understand why there’s such a huge shift. But now, with this episode, I understand Joseph so much better, even though I find it hard to believe that Joseph would have reacted to his family’s death the way he did in S1 given
how calm and collected he was to hearing his mother’s death AND having to kill his own father as a child. I just don’ think he would have been as impulsive and whiny with Daniel in regards to Tamara, and be so ineffective in the V-world when he was trying to find her.
And then the scene between
Daniel and Sam where Daniel had to get Sam on his side
was electrifying and totally awesome, and it makes me want to see Daniel be in scenes with every other character on the darn show. Eric Stolz is a fantastic actor.

But anyway, I’m really liking how the stories are developing in the unaired episodes, which sadly makes me even more angry about the cancellation. There’s just so much potential in this series.
