“did you guys ever WATCH the show?”
Termites!!
Let’s get out of here before one of those things kills Guy.
“And it exploded”
Look! I have one job on this lousy ship, it’s stupid, but I’m gonna do it! Okay?
Fred, you had a part people loved. I mean, my TV Guide interview was six paragraphs about my BOOBS and how they fit into my suit. No one bothered to ask me what I do on the show.
Not a quote from the movie (although there are so many good ones to choose from), but did anyone else think that “Guy” showed up in last night’s “Heroes” season premiere as Noah Bennett/Butler’s boss? I am pretty sure it was him…
sam rockwell played guy in galaxy quest, i did not see his name in the heroes credits
On the Heroes Wiki, it says the boss was played by Brian Kimmett. But now that ya’ll mention it, he did remind me of someone, and I couldn’t figure out who until now.
“Do you think you could try NOT to hit EVERY LAST ONE?!”
“Buuut whyyyyyy?”
AH, just found the thread!!! This is my favorite Sci-Fi spoof moive! Frakk’n awesome! I can’t believe other people dig Galaxy Quest. I thought I was alone on this one. I keep trying to get Chuck and Audra to watch it but they don’t seem to be into it for some reason.
“Come on guys, get a room”
“awwwww, that’s not right!!!”
Actually, I saw it some time ago. I remember enjoying it quite a bit, but for some reason the specifics didn’t really stick with me like other movies’ did.
try watching it with both eyes at the same time next time :), you will love it
I LOVE Galaxy Quest… I thought it was the best spoof movie as well, since it not only spoofed the show, but also the fan base…
Sigourney Weaver is my favorite in the movie, since she has done some serious sci-fi work, and done it well… it was great to see her do the parody …
The other reason this is a great movie, is that if you have never seen Star Trek, you can still sit and watch this movie and it can pass as it’s own concept movie…
OK, this thread made me re-watch this movie over the weekend. Best scene (for me) was when they land on the planet and start to open the shuttle’s hatch, prompting Guy to exclaim “Don’t open that! It’s an alien planet! Is there air? You don’t know!”. As he promptly holds his breath, I ROFLOL at that point. Sigh… but there were sooo many other good scenes tho - however, the “Is there air? You don’t know!” bit gets me all the time.
“Give him a hand, he’s British!”
I remember that sound. That’s a bad sound.
I believe it was Sam Rockwell, who played Zaphod Beeblebrox in the Hitchhikers guide, and who is currently playing Charley Ford in the new Brad Pitt cowboy movie. I don’t think he was in Hero’s but I could be wrong.
Galaxy Quest is my family’s favorite movie. We’ve actually pulled it off the shelf several times for a re-watch at my 7-year-old daughter’s request (she’s my beautiful little future geek-ette). VERY FUNNY movie.
— Dismal the family man who lives in LA, so has to know all the actor types
Sigourney Weaver in her granny panties walking through the spaceship in Aliens was probably my first movie-crush, and I’ve never really gotten over her. She sells it here, and I fell in love again. There is nothing better then her comments on the big hammer smashing things that they have to run through.
Great move.

My non-sci-fi-fan friends made me watch this one. “You like Star Trek, don’t you, David? You’ll like this movie!” Sounded like my mom telling me that spaghetti squash tasted just like spaghetti (no offense to spaghetti squash and spaghetti-squash fans).
I can’t stand Tim Allen, and I thought the movie would be very mean-spirited and ignorant towards sci-fi and sci-fi fans. But when the Protector scraped its way out of spacedock and I nearly peed myself for laughing, I was in love. Just broke my copy of the DVD during a move, frak it!

“I’m not a total braincase, I know it’s just a TV show…!”
“It’s real.”
“I KNEW it!!!”
Guy: Hey guys, there’s a red-thingy moving toward the green-thingy.
Jason: What?
Guy: Red-thingy moving toward the green-thingy… I think we’re the green-thingy.
