By Grabthar's hammer, by the sons of Worvan, the GALAXY QUEST thread!

Nesmith: "It’s a rock monster. It doesn’t have motivation. "

Alexander: You’re just going to have to kill it.
Nesmith: Kill it? Well, I’m open to any suggestions.
Tommy: Go for the eyes, like in episode 22!
Nesmith: He doesn’t have any eyes, Tommy!
Tommy: Go for the mouth, then, the throat, his vulnerable spots!
Nesmith: It’s a rock! It doesn’t have any vulnerable spots!
Guy: I know! You construct a weapon. Look around you, can you form some sort of rudimentary lathe?

That was awesome!!

Gwen: “They’re not ALL “historical documents.” Surely, you don’t think Gilligan’s Island is a…”
Mathsar: “Those poor people.”

the floors are so shiney

This is one of my favorite movie quotes ever! I use this one with the family (forced them all to watch) at every opportunity.

Gwen DeMarco: What is this thing? I mean, it serves no useful purpose for there to be a bunch of chompy, crushy things in the middle of a hallway. No, I mean we shouldn’t have to do this, it makes no logical sense, why is it here?
Jason Nesmith: 'Cause it’s on the television show.
Gwen DeMarco: Well forget it! I’m not doing it! This episode was badly written!

(Tho I recall Gwen saying “This episode was poorly written!”)

The whole movie is just so well crafted! Though I think they should have left in what she obviously mouthed on the set in that scene. But I can understand, that one f-bomb would blow the “kid friendly” rating. Still… I would have left it.

I smell director’s cut!

That would be the best! I can’t imagine what other jokes they could have cut out of that one though… it was a mile a minute thoughout the whole movie.

according to the imdb page, a lot of dialog was over dubbed to get a pg rating. They made no attempt to fix the actor mouths tho, so you’ll see a lot of that stuff where it looks like they are saying “frak” (because they are) but they loop some other word in.

I didn’t want to like this movie because I find Tim Allen about as funny as lung cancer but ultimately it was really great. Maybe it’s because he was just being Shatner or maybe because they didn’t give him any powertools. Either way it was pretty funny.

I’ve actaully heard that from a number of people. I never realy had a problem with him but I could see where some would. As far as I was concerned, it wasn’t enough to steer me away from it.
