Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood trail July 23rd 6PM EST

Not exactly what I think of when people say “gonzo”.

Do either of you like Tenchi? Have you seen Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari?

Rated high on A-P and ANN. I liked it.

I have no idea. Possibly.

Have you seen Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari?

Not as far as I know.

Wth at all of thinking different things for Gonzo?!!

It’s a harem anime and silly at times. Let me think of another contender…

I wish I could suggest Broken Blade/Blade Break, but it’s not finished yet.

How about Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS Team?

I just watched some it from that site we were using, and it looks promising… I would vote for that after Yukikaze, though MS 08 Mobile Suit was very good, but this would be something new so I would rather see it.

Ahem two of my team members are from the Tenchi Universe remember???

Duh. Of course.

I’ve seen Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari twice recently, but been awhile for 08th. Either is ok. Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari is prolly more entertaining of the two because of the comedy. But, it does gets silly.

Did you ever watch GXP?

Rewatching ep 5 since I’ve never seen it without posting.

I never noticed her fingers dangling after the explosion. And, how did she stay alive with blood loss?

That moment between Fabiola and Garcia before meeting Roberta was nice.

Oh, she didn’t shoot him. Her blood got on his shirt after he kissed her (that was still weird btw). I think…

Oh! I get who those random people at the end the colonel brought with him to see Roberta. They are relatives of the dead man Roberta hallucinated.

Roberta got so messed up. Fingers, an eye, and a arm. Wow.

Not really in the mood for silly…

Have not seen GXP, but after reading the info on it I am not sure I am ready for another ‘harem’ anime yet after recently coming off of Korwa Zombie Desu Ka.

For the Mech/SF I am now leaning toward watching the Macross movie and following it up with Gunbuster, I have not watched either in a very long time and it might be a blast revisting those. Sure Gunbuster can be a little slow and dry but it is really good Science Fiction.

Yeah, harem anime is rough for me because there’s so many of them!

Which Macross movie? If you haven’t seen Macross Plus or Macross Frontier, they may be your bag.

I loved Gunbuster. It’s the first series I ever bought. Unfortunately, I only have it on VHS. (: Gunbuster 2 was ok, but didn’t quite live up to the original imo.

GXP was sillier than Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari. Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari has a better story. Also, GXP was mediocre until a big reveal at the last two episodes. But, the Tenchi crew shows up briefly in the second half of the series and provide some nice background/closure which makes it worthwhile to watch. There’s only mild references to the Tenchi crew in Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari along with silohuettes. This is all imo btw. Your mileage may vary.

Speaking of harem series, Tenchi was my first because I hadn’t seen Ranma beforehand. d:

Question: Are you both glad I pushed for watching Roberta’s Blood Trail?

I think it might be the best of the series so far, though of course it benefits strongly from the history and character development of the previous seasons. I thought there was far more scheming and strategy involved which was nice, more character moments and there were consequences for peoples actions.

My only complaint was the use of the Barret 50 cal. You cannot use it like a freaking carbine! It is not meant to be used rapid fire, it will overheat and warp the barrel which with such a large round going through it would be fatal, And there is no way anyone could fire it one-handed! That was just silly, the thing kicks like a Clydesdale on crack.

But there were golden moments too. I loved the conversation between Balalika and the American Officer, that was awesome. Rock really shined in this, in fact all of the characters had some good screen time. We were treated so some good back story on Roberta and even some unsettling stuff on Revy.

I liked the fact that Roberta paid a very heavy price for her rampage and it was kind of touching that her role is now reversed with that of Garcia’s. He looks after her now, instead of the other way around. And I liked how cunning was more important than raw firepower or strength and ruthlessness. Roberta the Bloodhound was brought down by a unarmed former salaryman…

I believe that was just to show her prowess. That wasn’t anymore unbelievable than those twins using heavy guns. She was previously shown to break a car window with her fist and survive car crashes unscathed. d:

Plus, she looked awesome using that gun one-handed. d:

If that was your only complaint, then not bad. (:

Edit: I’m glad you liked it though.

Err? What’s tonight again? I may not make it.

Yukikaze

Should we reschedule?
