Big Bang Theory

I’ve gotten Hooked on this show called Big Bang Theory and wanted to see if anyone else has found this great show to watch for themselves.
I’m a geek, I’m not as smart as the guys in the show but how many people really are. I enjoy it, because it reminds me of my youth and how it was to a geek and talking to girls. not that penny inbodies all girls but I think you’ll get my point. love to hear what you all think.

The Hubs and I love it too! And RMHPH watches it as well. It is hilarious! I just watched last night’s epi this morning. Loved it! Sheldon is awesome! I can’t believe it hasn’t caught-on more among this group. I think the problem is there are more good shows on Monday nights than people have room on their DVRs for. (That’s not a problem for us as we’ve got 3 DVRs in the house. Shocking, I know.)

We just watched Ep3 of season 2 today in the shop. 5 people sitting around an IPOD. I totally dig Sheldon. he is so disconnected from the world sometimes.

It’s a show called Big BANG Theory? Big Bang? As in… ? IKYWIM!

(That’s not a problem for us as we’ve got 3 DVRs in the house. Shocking, I know.)

She’s just pulling your leg. Nobody has 3 DVRs!

I’m hooked as well. some of the geek stereotyping is a bit over the top (Klingon Boggle??) but I also recognize glimmers of myself and friends in each of the characters, Sheldon included, much to my amused dismay.

leave it to GWC’s resident dirty old man to see first the IYKWIM and second the name of a major scientific theory. your geekcard is hereby revoked. it will be reissued as a lifetime membership to the gutter club

She’s just pulling your leg. Nobody has 3 DVRs!

:sheepishly: I do

Do I need to take pictures of each one or have RMHPH verify this for me? Seriously, we do! Two HD and one older TiVo that we’re just waiting until it dies. We don’t record anything super-important on that one.

Oh, and no BIG BANG as in the theory of how the world was created.

Note to self: Do not touch Lady D’s onion rings.

damn right! I’d be forced to give you a strike

Talk about revoking MY geek card!

I was referencing Back To The Future, you know like “nobody has TWO TVs”…

sorry, I thot you were commenting on american excess

ok, now you guys have me cracking up, I got it. BTTF…

Monday night is a little to full of shows I want to watch. both Big Bang theory and Chuck start at the same time. I was interested in the Sara Connor cronicles but since I have only the one DVR and can’t record two things and watch another…Terminator losses. I am still watching Heroes but if it does not get any better in the next few episodes I will have to remove it from my list. (thats sad)
But Jim Parsons as Sheldon on Big Bang is the most funny thing I have seen in a loooooong time. his timing is perfect. And the writer seem to actually be Geeks themselves, the references and call outs are almost as good as Chuck, Sean and Audra’s.
thats my two cents anyway…
(to which Sheldon replies…
"My two cents" and its longer version “put my two cents in” is an American idiomatic expression, taken from the original British idiom expression: to put in “my two pennies worth” or “my tuppence worth”. It used to preface the tentative stating of one’s opinion. By deprecating the opinion to follow — suggesting its value is only two cents, a very small amount — the user of the phrase hopes to lessen the impact of a possibly contentious statement, showing politeness and humility. However, it is also sometimes used with irony when expressing a strongly felt opinion. The phrase is also used out of habit to preface uncontentious opinions.)

American Excess? Is that the credit card that swipes you back?

FWIW, I loved the Klingon Boggle–hilarious!

Is that real? I thought it was a joke.

I’m sure that somewhere, someone has done it.

I want a I <3 Sheldon bumper sticker.

oh, I didn’t say I didn’t love it. I laughed so hard I almost wet myself. as they read their lists to a chorus of "got it"s, I nearly died
