as much as I hate Bester…and I hate Bester…this part of the stroyline makes the least sense to me. I just dont see Bester “sending a message”

I could never tell if they staged that or it was taken from footage they had filmed. At the time of the season 4 finale, they didn’t know there was gonna be a season 5.
