Any Motorcycle Geeks?

Just wondering if any one else rides and what you ride. I ride a '07 Honda VTX 1300R.

ETA: For you Firefly fans and Browncoats - my bike is named Serenity.

I’ve owned 2 honda CX 500’s

i’m currently without a working bike but have a Honda CB that just needs new carbs. Everytime i find myself without a bike though i take a year or two off to reflect on the close calls and the fact that i’ve made it this far.

and then its back on the saddle.

Had a bike in my younger, foolish days.
I say “foolish” only because I let my then boyfriend talk me into a bike too big for me - “…you want the power, babe”. I kept dropping it at almost every intersection. Quite embarrassing, and very humbling when I’d have to ask a “big guy” to lift it up for me.

Well, what’s life without those wonderful, “What-was-I-thinking?”, moments.

It sure was fun though!!

STAY SAFE Cajun and Cpt. Tim

I own 2 an 82 Honda V45 Magna and 96 Honda 1100 Shadow ACE.

My friends wife had the same problem with her bike. She still rides and over time has avoided any more “incidents”. I got my first drop out of the way early when I forgot to put my kickstand down! Thankfully the crash bars and my car prevented it from going completely over. My bike is definitely a bigun! Over 700 pounds.

Quite embarrassing, and very humbling when I’d have to ask a “big guy” to lift it up for me.

Geek… no, fiend is more like it.

I’ve had 6 bikes over the years (before I had a house) and loved them all.

Started out with a Kawa Ninja 250R and put 78k miles on it. Loved that bike.
Then had a string of cruisers, 1978 kc650 and a 1998 Vulcan 750.

The 750 was a little big for me and I like sport bikes so I opted for a 2001 zx600 Ninja. Never really liked it so I swapped a friend for a 500 Ninja. In my eyes that is still my perfect bike. [sigh] One day it will be again. I’ll see if I can’t digg up some pics

I am not at all suprised Sean is a bike man. It is how he rolls (my puns rule:D)

My next big purchase is gonna be a bike, it’s in my blood. My dad used to ride and he chopped his own bike way-way-waaaaaay back in the day(Which was a wednesday).

Any advice?

I have a Harley XLS 1200 (sportster) I ride whenever i can. would not trade it for the world!

I could use a little motorcycle therapy right now, in fact.

Have you ever noticed… You never see a motorcycle park outside of a psychologist’s office.

i have a BMW MOTORRAD R1200C “Special 007 eddition” bike. It is identicle to the bike from the movie Tommorow Never Dies. It’s a smooth riding trike and has never had to spend a day in the shop. I bought it new. Had it for about 12 years now and have put around 60,000 miles on it.

Sadly it has a cover on it and is in my storage unit… just because my comute doesn’t do well for a bike and my appartment doens’t have a garage. I do get it out on a weekend or two when weather permits.

A 2004 BMW R1150R

An '89 Honda Hawk

A POS '76-'80something Yamaha 650 for dissection purposes. Maybe a someday rebuild.

Hiker

When I was still with my ex, she and her parents all had Harleys. We’d take a couple out every so often and ride.

It’s on the list of stuff-I’ll-get-down-the-line.

Now this is an awesome motorcycle !!

The Terminatorbike

Holy crap! Nice bike, dude!

I might one day buy F650GS if I ever overcome my irrational lust for Monsters. Mmm… Monsters…

I’m looking at a bike myself, being from WI obviously I’m being pressured if I get one for it to be a Harley, but they’re expensive compared to a Kawasaki

if I get one it’ll probably be a Kawasaki Ninja 250R since the payments would be within my budget (I’m also paying off a used F-150 I got this year) but first I’m looking at buying a house…and ironically for the type of range I’m looking at buying the mortage is going to be about 200-300 less than what I’m paying for rent each month =P

I’m trying to narrow down what I’m going to get…it’s frakkin hard. I’m narrowed it down to a bike per manufacturer but even still

My 96 1100 Honda Shadow ACE

Weather needs to clear up, and work needs to slow down so I can get it out of storage.

Wouldn’t call myself a motorcycle geek but I do ride when the weather permits.

2004 Yamaha XT225 dual sport. Fun to ride off-road in the muck and still street legal! Getting the bike out in the river for this shot was a bit of a challenge for me.

I ride a 1951 Harley-Davidson panhead chopper. Sweet ride man, right now I’m putting a springer front end on her, gonna look beyond awesome when I’m done. Would upload pics, but I’m not aloud to at the moment plus the paint job on the tank is NSFW (heh heh).
