Plot Summary: Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (“Hot Fuzz,” “Shaun of the Dead”) reunite for the comedy adventure “Paul” as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America’s UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever.

For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-traveling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town – a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Collings (Frost).

Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.

Huh I didn’t know that was coming out so soon, I’m down

Down for that or Battle LA, which comes out 3/11

Like I said–totally down for either or

Oh man torn

Thursday night crew get some dinner and go see Battle?

That would be good too. I suggested Paul 'cause it releases that weekend.

can’t wego see both?
we could do paul first, then try for a midnight screening of battle, if we told the theatre we could guarantee, say, 100 geeks i’m sure they would accomodate.
Phaze
on the “saw a midnight screening of watchmen that way at a agaming convention” ID

I’d love it if we hooked up a tv and we watched Metropolis all together

I don’t think we’ll have 100 geeks to make that guarantee. And some of us (me, anywho) will be traveling home on Sunday, how early that day depends on available flights on schedule.

I suggested Paul, because it releases that weekend. Battle for LA will have been out for a week and some will have already seen it before the meetup. Of course at a multiplex theater we could just all split up and see either one.

It’d be more of a MST3K experience with our rowdy group. Most of us aren’t cinephiles. I like Metropolis, but I have a hard time staying tuned to the film when I do watch it nowadays. But it is one that every Sci-Fi fan should view at least once.

I’m down for either movie…or both.

Re: Metropolis - I am planning on bringing my roku box with me this time, since all the rooms have breakout boxes we could probably have a live frak sometime that weekend of the movie (or movies) if people are interested.

agree see both

Lets have a walking dead Marathon it’s only six episodes plus it’s The walking dead.
 the best tv show on right now

cant make the meet up, but can suggest the most awesome of activites… balloon Sumo…

Moviedude and I were discussing of possibly having a two man panel discussion of 2001: A Space Odyssey with a showing of the film. If anyone is interested in watching two film geeks have at it you are all welcome to join us  Maybe I can talk Chuck into recording it!

Aaaaaand, edit out the first few sentences…

::snicker::

I may be new, but suddenly I feel right at home. Has anyone mentioned playing Munchkin?

I kick down the door and loot your post.
