That was done on purpose, they started pulling some of his story elements from ACoK in at the end of season 1 in order to pull some of his story from Storm of Swords in to season 2 so he wouldn’t be completely out of the season and because it won’t really hurt the SoS story since Storm is being turned in to 2 seasons.
