Lemme throw this at you and think about it for a second: Bettie White.
Betty White would be awesome, but it appears right now she wants to stick with comedy. And she’s got a full plate.
Betty White would be amazing but I love her on Hot in Cleveland way too much. I don’t know if she could do both shows and I’d hate to see her leave HiC just for a relatively small part in Game of Thrones because she truly is the heart and soul of that show.
Other than Maggie Smith, I could see someone like Imelda Staunton or Judi Dench in the part. I know there are few more that I’m forgetting that would be awesome in the role but I’m just not thinking of at the moment.
Somehow Helen Mirren came to my mind for the Queen of Thorns, but I guess she is a too big movie star for such a minor role.
Helen Mirren would be also be awesome. She may not be too big a name as she does a lot of television too and Glee was able to get her to be Becky’s inner voice for her monologues similar to Jane Lynch’s when they had needed someone to be Becky’s voice for voice overs a couple of times.
In me head, the Queen of Thorns’ voice was Bette Davis.
I would love to see Helen Mirren in the role.
I always pictured someone much older. The lady from Titanic, maybe (though she’s dead). Or, at least, someone shorter, frailer, to contrast her inner viciousness.
I’m really missing having a new episode tonight

I picture the queen of thorns as like the kindly old lady that looks like she’ll bake you cookies but then call you fat or tells you you’re balding

Me too - how long do we have to wait for Season 3? And are we sure that’s really happening?
There sure as hell better be a Game of Thrones panel at SDCC. That’s the only way I can get through the wait for S3!
I would guess next April. Season 3 has been confirmed, they are casting some new characters now.
Season 3 will likely start airing sometime next April and yes it is really happening, HBO officially renewed the show after the second episode of season 2.

WooHoo !!
I’m spending the summer reading as much of the books as I can. I will start book 1 today.

Oh, that’s a shame. I really like Violet in DA.

I’m sort of jealous of you, it’s one hell of a time diving into the books for the first time. So exciting! On the other hand, know that your summer is shot. All free time will be entirely spent in those books because gawd, they’re addictive.
Any thoughts on the main characters (from what i can make out) ; Tyrion Lannister, Arya Stark, Jaime Lannister, Jon Snow, Theon Greyjoy ? (i might have missed some) . I feel that alot or most of these character make a dynamic change in thier self, thoughts?
This is true. There is an exceptional amount of growth in the television show (even more so in the books) and it’s been very enjoyable to watch. Though, to be fair, the flow of development in Jaime Lannister isn’t moving in the way that I’d hoped at the speed that I’d wanted.
You never know, there is supposed to be five more seasons, there’s plenty of room for the kingslayer.
I’d say if anything the tv show has sped up Jaime’s arc. He does damn all in ACoK
