Yeah, got your meaning. I’m just unsure if someone would use ‘jumper’ when they knew full well they were going to put on a cardigan. In American usage you could use ‘Sweater’ that way. ‘Cardigan’ seems to be reserved for when you feel the need to make a distinction, at least on this side of the pond.
I agree, Cardigan’s always had a distinct style…
Seeeeee, see what I did there.
Yeah, but you’d sweat 'er, while I’d jump 'er.
Bazinga!
In common usage, in America at least, Cardigans are known for the big singles, but I think of the more obscure cut from the sadly neglected follow-up album.
But I think we can all agree on the sweater song.
Resident Uk’er to the rescue.
A Jumper is a sweater/pullover…like something you wear in winter
A cardigan or Cardie is a coat like garment.

What the hell is a scanner lady??
The other thing is that I do find it funny when people do a english accent. It is a case of you need to be specific. Also I do find myself saying, “Do I speak like that”. Esp if it’s a East London accent.
Since the crew discussed health class and bananas this week, don’t forget what our friend Kif Kroker said in “Kif Gets Knocked Up A Notch.”
“Leela must have impregnated me when she touched my ungloved hand. That explains the poster in hygiene class: No Glove, No Love.”
Now this-------
Is McLovin!!!
How DID the O’Hara family react to your past double life, anyway? At least you have Squeaker to protect you.
Sean’s Roadrunner saga was awesome!
And reminded me of incidences from my own past. Here in Arizona during the 80’s the underground racing community went through a rather interesting and highy dangerous craze. They got into building V8 Vegas! Oh my God, they were blazingly fast! But handled like shopping carts, and were a bitch to keep on the road. And they went through clutches and transmissions like cigarettes, which is why the craze did not last all that long. Once all of the junkyards ran out of Vega trannies it put an end to that nonsense.
In the 70’s in California I had a cousin that was a real piston-head, and he got into some trouble when he fell into a local group who were building V8 Pintos (insert eyeroll here). Of course this was before anyone knew just how dangerous Pinto gas tanks were. They were quite a sight to behold, and loud as Hell. But they suffered from the same affliction as the Vegas, the trannies just could not handle all that torque and horsepower for long. When a clutch plate almost went through his firewall he called it quits.
So all in all I must say a Roadrunner sounds a lot saner than some of the other nonsense I have seen and heard about. Like say… V8 Karmenn Ghias or Volkswagen ‘Things’.
Damn I wish my Pinto had a V8! But I had racer stripes and Mag wheels with fatties on the back. And it was a '74 with the explodo gas tank too. Bonus dude!
I always liked the britishism for racing stripes: “Go Faster Stripes”
Here’s your coffee/lunch time reading:

Is that really a britishism? Cause the US military uses “Goes/Go fast” all the time for stuff. Like sneakers, tactical sunglasses, etc.
They use ‘klicks’ too. Still a britishism.
for some reason that picture looks like the car rammed into the tree… good that wasn’t the case. because i made some pretty idiotic driving blunders when i was in high school.
Yeah it does, but it’s just parked under that Weeping Willow. I was out of school when I had the car…only 1 fender-bender in it and it wasn’t my fault.
I think that’s a metricism just sayin
Kilometer is, but “klick” only by association.
With a bit of googling, it seems to be a North Americanism. The US Military and Canadians (military?) seem to be the only ones using it. Any Brits (or Aussies or whatever) out there use it?
In 20 or 30 years when KidsAZ call into GWC for Squeaker’s Retro Cast, I’m afraid all their HS prank stories will be about Face Book or You Tube.
“Remember that one time… on my wall?”
