2001: A Space Odyssey 1/28 @ 9 PM ET

Oh God how I miss my 2001 models…:frowning:

That pen could put somebody"s eye out!

Who am I in the scenario of primitive apemen beating on each other?

Love that transition. I made a comment to someone that the bone was the first form of technology (tool, weapon) and then it shows man’s greatest technological achievement up to this point (space vessel). crickets

Yes. That was the question. Are we hiding in the cave waiting for it to blow over?

I know. I miss so many of my old toys.

What is up with that stewardess’ head gear?

There was a PC space sim where you had to dock like this… and if you bought a docking computer, this music would play as you docked.

Space condum.

heh… this furniture looked so cool and modern 40 years ago.

I was just saying the other day after seeing ‘Avatar’, “If I can watch the film without dialogue, it’s a great film.” Avatar was beautiful, BTW.

curious,… no time delay in the phone signal…

Waiting for evolution to blow over? Nah, I’m sitting in the shadow of that monolith all day, sucking up all the evolution I can muster for myself.

I still have most of mine. My packrat tendencies have at least one advantage.

Just saw the frak party was going on, but am still at work.

Anyway, it reminded me of a cool link to a flash site of someone’s interpretation of 2001. Its worth a gander:

Probably will have to repost in the podcast thread next week.

I wish I could be joinging you all in the rewatch…

Look! A webcam, almost 40 years before they were made.

Thanx Phil. Will check that out after the party.

I like how the set is curved to indicate where they are in relation to the station.

Love this casual conversation scene. Kubrick does this so well in all his films. It’s just people sitting around chatting. He always makes it so interesting. It’s so subtle, it’s brilliant.

ouch. You can see where the hall stops and it ends in a painting…

more space condums.
