YouTube TV/Movie Music Intro/Theme Playlist

Due to the policies at work, I cannot bring an iPod, cellphone, CDs, or DVDs into work. Basically no personal media of any kind. However, I am granted access through my computer at my desk into YouTube. (Sorry, no Hulu, Netflix, Pandora or any other streaming video or audio website).

So, I thought I’d create a playlist on YouTube.

So far I have:

-NBC’s Friday Night Lights Theme
-Tron: Legacy Recognizer
-2001 A Space Odyssey Intro
-Star Trek: Enterprise Intro

Nice picks, Firefly was the first thing to pop into my head when I saw the title.

I never watched much of Zena, but the theme song is pretty kickass.
Buffy/Angel theme is awesome too, guess Whedon has a gift for them (with the exception of Dollhouse).
Anime has a few, Death Note and Darker Than Black come to mind.
And i’m gona count “So long and thanks for all the fish” from the Hitchhikers movie as the movies title sequence : ).
And Its not a tv show/movie, but the credits sequence in Portal is obviously awesome. As if i had to say that xD

Pretty much any BSG, especially if you can find the live concert versions. My work’s the opposite (I can have an iPod, but can’t connect it to the computer and Youtube’s blocked), or I’d link you to the ones I have favorited.

I understand not being allowed to bring in an ipod, phone, CDs or DVDs as well as blocking access to Hulu, Pandora, etc. Why the YouTube exception? Just curious.

I work best with instrumental music, so the BSG soundtracks are definitely high on my list. Seasons 2 and 3, especially, are awesome. Bear’s live performances also are lots of fun.

When I am on deadline and need to be lashed onward I put on the Lord of the Rings scores. They are dark and ominous and urgent, which puts me in the right mood to focus with a vengeance.

Another movie whose score is both beautiful and motivating is The Last of the Mohicans.

Final suggestion: the early Harry Potter soundtracks. They feel magical, just like they should. And it’s more upbeat than any of the other ideas I’ve got.
