My thought.
-Anders becomes The Galacticas equivelent of a hybrid and starts repairing the ship via all the goo the 6s and 8s spread all over the ship.
-On her death bed Rosalin convinces Adama that he has to save Hera.
-Adama goes to the Base Star and goes postal on Cavil.
-The FF regain all their memories with the aid of the Larry models.
-The FF use the Larrys to destroy Cavil.
-Its revealed that some of the Lords of Kobol are amongst the Fleet trying to break the Cycle.
-Baltar, Starbuck, Doc Cottle, Zarek, Gaeda, Hera, Romo, and Lee Adama are The Lords of Kobol.
-The Skin Jobs and Humans must intermingle to continue their existence.
-Maybe they find a new home.
-Forgot Eloshia she was a Lord of Kobal too.
Finally
-Head Lance will be revealed as the One True Cylon God.
Come on now, you know Stewie hates that.
Ok, some final answers will be:
-
Everyone is some type of Cylon. Humans died out many cycles ago.
-
Baltar did die in the blast on Caprica (I’ve thought this all along.)
-
Baltar and Starbuck were both resurrected.
-
Adm Adama, Roslin. Anders & Tyrol will die on Galactica, when the “Old Girl” dies.
-
Hera is rescued from Cavil’s clutches. Cavil is killed.
-
Boomer redeems herself somehow and dies.
-
Helo, Athena & Hera are restored to domestic bliss.
-
Starbuck & Lee are together.
-
Anders jumps Galactica to the real Earth, which is a paradise.
Just some off the top of my head. But at this point, NOTHING would surprise me.
Here’s something I want to know, but don’t have much speculation about…
Where did the Cylons that nuked Erf go? I think it’s safe to assume they won that particular war. Erf was devastated and the FF left. But what happened to those Cylons? Where are they now? Apparently not on Erf.
Over the past 2,000 years did they evolve into the mystical man-behind-the-curtain in our story?
Did they just go off and start a new cycle somewhere else?
When you’re a Lord of Kobol, you’re a Lord of Kobol all the way, from your first cigarette to your last dyin’ day…
I want to be in Ko-o-bol
Okay for me in Ko-o-bol
Everything free in Ko-o-bol
For a small fee in Ko-o-bol
I believe the Beings of Light are involved with what’s going on. If you’ve seen the deleted scenes for “Kobol’s Last Gleaming, Part 1”, the description of why the humans left Kobol was due to a war between one god who wanted to be above all others and the other Lords of Kobol. The “one god who wanted to be above all others” matches the description of Count Iblis from the original show. And the episode in which the Beings of Light and Count Iblis got invovled for the first time was called “War of the Gods”. I believe that the Beings of Light and “Count Iblis” may be involved with the events of the show (and I believe that the Opera House visions and certain head characters, like Head Six and Head Leoban, are being controlled by the Beings of Light. In fact, I feel that D’anna’s vision of the Final Five wasn’t really of the Final Five, but the Beings of Light taking on the appearance of the Final Five in order to influence events). And I also believe the “One true God” of the Cylons is in fact, Count Iblis (if you remember the original show, Count Iblis wanted to have someone to dominate and he went after Sheba. For the new series, who else was vulnerable than the Cylons?). And I feel what we are seeing is the Beings of Light and Count Iblis’ constant competition over the lives of the Cylons and humans. Even if they’re not shown in the last couple of episodes, it doesn’t mean its not possible.
Plus, Starbuck’s resurrection is easily explained using details from the old show. Think about it: Starbuck died, came back to life, knew how to get to Earth but didn’t remember how she got to and from there. She drew a picture of the rebel Basestar before it was even damaged and before Leoban showed up to even bring Starbuck and Co. to the Basestar. In the original series, Apollo was killed by Count Iblis in his attempt to kill Sheba. But the Beings of Light brought him back to life. He gave Starbuck, Apollo and Sheba the information on how to get to Earth, but wipe their memory of the meeting of the Beings of Light. For the new series, since Starbuck exploded in her Viper, it seems logical that the Beings of Light would bring her back via cloning and reconstructed her Viper.
But why are they involved? Simple: In the original series, the Beings of Light didn’t get involved unless they needed to (i.e. Count Iblis for the original show). Plus, there is a line in the original that explains why the Beings of Light are involved: “What you are, we once were. What we are, you will become.” I think the Beings of Light are facing extinction and the only hope for them is getting the Cylons and Humans to help them (possibly integrate them into their society), but Count Iblis is keeping them from doing so.
Of course, this is just my belief. I could be wrong.
CB, that’s a valuable perspective. Welcome aboard!
Note: I decided to post my reply first, before reading all but the first few posts so this will just be my unimaginative drivelings.
Ok, the obvious. The end will revolve around Hera. Just about everyone else will be there, but everything will hinge on Hera. Boomer’s probably going to pull a Vader-throwing-Palpatine-down-the-shaft, or otherwise save Hera.
When I say everybody, I mean everybody. All Cylon models save D’Anna - though you never know with that one - including Tory and Simon. Well, maybe not Simon. We might also see some centurions.
The sole exception is Lee. I’m going back and forth over Lee being there. He “obviously” should stay with the fleet, but they played that during Exodus. I think he’ll do the “smart” and “wrong” thing and actually stay with the fleet. It’ll be his final transformation into the President of the Colonies.
I don’t think Athena and the Prez are going to make it to the end because of their shared dream. They have to give her up to Baltar and Caprica (tip of the hat to glimfeather). If Anders stays connected to the Galactica, Starbuck will go down with him.
Hotdog will survive. Somebody has to look after Nick.
Thanks CB, that was interesting. Welcome aboard.
I have to say this: there do look to be today spoilers about the final episodes out there on the Internet. and some appear to be quite possible, even probable. I’ll not post them here, but if you frequent other forums just to “lurk” as I do, you will see them.
Myself, I think Baltar is a goner. I think ending the show with him saving his bacon yet AGAIN wouldn’t do anything for the ending written in a typical RDM manner.
I think Cavil is a goner too over that whole inhibitor business with the toasters. Think that’ll rear it’s head and he’ll pay in an ironic fashion by being knocked off by the very “ancestors” he would prefer to be and contradicted himself by trying to control. His last thought should be “Oops.”
Adama and Roslin - goners too. The Captian always (except in the case of Titanic) goes down with his ship. Roslin has been a goner since day 1, although one would think at their stage with their technological advancement something like cancer could have been cured (I agree with her statements she made in the TV Guide article this week – that whole thing is a BSG frack party. Pick one up at your newstand today.)
Boomer? She’s a redemption goner, as I agree with those in this thread who mentioned that. However, her redemption I think is tied to Cavil’s demise. The “swirl” backfired…how poetic is that?
Athena ain’t a goner. She’s gotta look after Hera. However the sad juxtaposition of events Helo has gone thru latey by shagging Boomer thinking she was Athena will probably mean that he’s a goner too. Poor Helo… he just wants his family back and he’s desperate. Desperate people often make mistakes in battle.
I would be very sad if Helo dies. Just wrong!!
Welcome to the Forums, McServ.
I apologize. I seem to have posted my theory on the Beings of Light/what I think the ending will be, twice in two separate posts. But thanks for listening guys.
I think that battle was self contained and both sides of that war were destroyed.
I think it was like Defcon5, or whatever that game is called that’s based on WARGAMES. A battle of mutual destruction.
One can only suppose that unlike Fallout, they really did kill everyone, even the cockroaches (or maybe radroaches weren’t important enough to warrant screentime).
They’re going back to Kobol. I think that once they wipe each other out they’ll settle on Kobol. I support this theory with the secret of the opera house is that it’s on Kobol and will be rebuilt once what’s left of Humanity and skinjobs settle there.
There were two separate games made. One is called “Defcon 5” (which is strictly a graphic scene ala from the film “WarGames” strategic battle) and there is “WarGames: Defcon 1” (where you could play as either the WOPR or as the humans and battle the opposing force with vehicles).
Maybe Kobol is the real Earth?
Maybe The Colony (the Cylon homeworld) is the real Earth?
Well, if it is, I hope it’s as pretty as Kobol.
i have to say if this is true that would be anti-climactic for me. because we’ve already been to kobol, so id be like, duhhh why didnt we just stay there.
