WOO HOO! THANKSGIVING! What are your plans?

So…hey all…Turkey Day is starting early for us here. Went from having a few people over to almost 20! A bunch of the younger enlisted-types at work are far, far from home and no one to feed them. I love to cook, I love Thanksgiving, I love my troops…see what’s coming? YES! A Full house of hungry Turkey eaters! Got the X-box ready! Got the fire-pit ready! Got the German neighbors ready! Got the deep frier ready!

Turkey! Ham! Rolls! Dessert! Some yucky cranberry thing! Wine! Beer! X-box! Potatoes! More wine! More beer! Cuban cigars! FIRE! Hot chicks dancing nekkid! (well, once the wine starts flowing, and probably after dinner, actually), a trampoline! (see nekkid chicks). A goofy Yellow Lab! A fierce girly cat! More wine!

What are your plans for this weekend?

I hope all of you have a fun, safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Go cook! Go eat! Go make sure someone isn’t alone!

We have a seemingly lame day planned compared to yours! Food, family, and only 2 bottles of wine. 9 adults, 3 kids. I’m in charge of pies and breadsticks.

HA! Get more wine! Makes the breadsticks less fattening…or something. I don’t know what the hell wine does to breadsticks…makes them BETTER! (Quick! Stargate SG-1 reference!)

Have fun! Happy Thanksgiving!

To go talk to Calender Man in Batman Arkham City, that’ll make 2 holidays down, 10 to go. Let the Great Year Long Achievement Hunt continue!

Im Irish, so don’t celebrate it obviously, but I hope all of yey over the pond have a great day

I don’t have any friends, and my family is in a different state, so my wife and I will be celebrating Thanksgiving all by ourselves this year.

Again.

That actually sounds really nice to me. Sometimes I don’t want to be driving all over the place. Enjoy your relaxing long weekend!

We are having dinner with my wife’s family. With the whole… family. But it’s only a couple of hours, then the wife and kids are going to visit friends and I get to go home to skyrim. It works.

Venona, we’re celebrating quietly at home as well. So don’t feel left out. Quiet sounds pretty good and beats being on the road.

My father-in-law and I will be getting out of the house in the morning, however, taking my daughters to see the annual ice sculpture exhibit and winter show (although it’s supposed to be in the mid-60s tomorrow. Irony!) at the Gaylord National hotel, thus guaranteeing that the women folk will be able to use the kitchen in peace and harmony without much need to resort to violence.

After that, it’ll be dinner in the mid-afternoon then triptophan induced comas for all.

Early afternoon dinner with the wife’s side of the family. In the same town, so not a difficult travel situation.

Should be fine. Predicting topical subjects like “technology”. Even if conversation devolves into politics shouldn’t be too bad. If conversation drifts to religion, I’ll need to remain uncomfortably mute.

You have friends here. Now, cook for us! :stuck_out_tongue:

BITCH, MAKE ME A SAMMICH!

I’m one of those people that really enjoys their family. I love getting together with my big extended family, because we’re all really close but don’t have the opportunities to get together very often (Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving). What I miss most about it is playing football with everyone.

sounds good to me, too. out of town relatives mean the usual, small TDay is out the window, and it’s now 20 adults, 15 kids under 8 (many of them with discipline-challenged parents) in a not-terribly-big house of teetotalers. I’m going to be thankful when I get home

I will be sleeping most of the day tomorrow. Have to be at work for Target’s earlier than last year start for Black Friday. Scheduled for 11:45 p.m Thursday to 8:15 a.m. Friday.

So those of you who don’t have exciting plans…be Thankful that you at least get a Holiday off!

I wish I could write about my holiday plans, but all we can do (with two of our friends) is go to an awesome buffet at Mader’s on the day of. We can’t see family or have friends over, because my wife has two kinds of pneumonia and an opportunistic sinus infection (again). GWCers, please have food and fun for both us!

Hope Alice is feeling better soon!

Heading down to San Francisco for the BIG family Thanksgiving dinner. Really looking forward to it, and the few days off.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. It’s be good to see my sibs.

Thank you so much!

Turkey smells awesome! Ham smells awesome! House smells awesome!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Wish you were here!

Just the immediate family this year, brother, sister, and parents. I’m at work until 8am then go home throw the bird in the oven. Nap. Wake up, finish dinner. Eat then nap again since I have to go into work at midnight.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to all you American GWCers out there! And to all you American turkeys…sorry man.

I’ll be hanging out with the GF, until noonish, then we plan on hitting the gym before 2pm. Later in the afternoon we head on over to her cousin’s Thanksgiving bash/dinner, with a houseful of kids and her extended family. Lots of great food, which I get to eat, but none of which we have to cook.

Best wishes to all my GWC peeps, have a blast today, enjoy it all, and get home safely!
