Wow, I had been wondering exactly how long it would be before they incorporated Gambit into the whole she-bang…the Blob too, interesting how they’re picking and choosing the gratuitous “character drops” in here.
So Sean, maybe with your knowledge of the expanded Marvel universe (which was a completely confusing reference book, but I loved it anyway), is it worth connecting the average movie-goer with the whole Alpha Flight team, and that whole back story? There are some fabulous characters in that group, and if this film wants to highlight Wolverine as a “tactical asset”, that plot line plays to it directly…
Man, I don’t know why they didn’t get Sawyer from LOST to play Gambit, that guy is totally Gambit!

Looks awesome! I am embarrassed to ask, but who is Wolverine talking to at the end of the trailer? I am a poor and broke lad, so I don’t normally have the money to spend on going to the theater, but I just might for this one—Wolverine is awesome.
Nah, I just meant the flashback to Wolvie as a kid stuff. The rest of it looks like Team X/Weapon X and forward stuff.
Thanks. I probably should have figured that out, but I only read a few of the comics in the mid to early 80s when I was a younger lad, and the ones I did read had to do with Wolverine.

??? I meant the X-men comics in general. Like I said, I was a very young lad, and the only hero in any of the comics that made an impression upon me was Wolverine. I very vaguely remember reading them. Never actually read the origins. Never really read beyond those few issues, though not because I didn’t like them or anything, but rather a byproduct of growing up during the Volker recession. I would like to try to get into the X-men comics, but I have no idea where to even start.
I cant wait to see Gambit in action. I hope he dosen’t play the bad buy the entire time. But i know he has a tendency to flip flop sides. he is one of if not my favortie x-men characters. I’m ok with the guy playing him he has pretty good acting chops. Sawyer from Lost would have been great too as well as the guy who played Rene from True Blood but he may have been to small.

Whoa. Wow. I have very little X-men universe knowledge that didn’t come from the movies, but hey, who doesn’t love Wolverine (other than Dr. Cox)? And Liev Shreiber is amazing and broody and, well, he doesn’t match my impression of Sabertooth from the original set of movies (Magneto’s dumb muscle guy). I’m really excited to see this movie. The trailer makes it look really, really amazing.
That wasn’t the best depiction of Sabertooth. I’m still meh on the X-Movies, and I’m not fan of Wolverine as depicted in the movies, but this trailer certainly does its job, and the flick looks cool to me.
