Deadpool (sic. Is that a Clint Eastwood reference?) was called Wade in the movie.
see and I LOVE the Deadpool comic. Wade is a total nutjob and funny as hell. In teh movie for 5 minutes…UGH
I thought Deadpool was completely wasted. He only had about five minutes in this film, and all of a sudden he is this big fierce big bad. Really?
In my humble opinion, I thought the film was weak. The relationship between Victor and Logan made no since. They are these arch rivals for 2/3s of the film,a nd then I am expected to believe that Victor would save Logan and say “Only I can kill my brother”?What? Really?
Blob was a complete cringe fest. I felt like I was wacthing a scene from antoher movie. It was not funy and was a waste of time. The same oes for other X0men appearing in this film. They did not need to be there and therefore they could not help but be undeveloped.
I would have much rather seen a film that covered what this film covered in five minutes.
Blob looked laughably like “fat Bastard” from Austen Powers. They shoud be ashamed to collect a check for that effect.
I watched the movie in the theate just because I thought that maybe me “judgeing the work print” was premature.
It was the same as the pirate version. Exactly the same. I guess I am not a dummy for judgeing it after all. Like I said before, I wasn’t judgeing what wasn’t there… I was judgeing what WAS there. And what was there was CRAAAAAAAAAAP! ( except for the first 20 mins).
I did like gambit ( although he didn’t belong in this movie)
and in the end , ticket sales and professional reviews are backing up my initial review!!!
As a very casual X-Men comic reader, I really liked the movie. Yay some things were weak or didn’t make sense, but it didn’t keep me from really enjoying it. If there’s a sequel, I’ll see that too.
I finally saw Wolverine last night and enjoyed it. It was what I expected it to be: entertaining.
Yes, the middle was a bit slow. The opening montage was the best part of the movie for me. They did include bits & pieces to tie it to the earlier movies (Xavier, some of the kids that were captured (Storm, Cyclops), explaining how Wolverine lost his memory), which worked for. Gambit was cool. Oh, and I did like Will.I.Am.
I am not familiar with the comics at all, though. My only experience with X-Men is through the movies. So, I did not have any preconceived notions about what the story would be.
To “second” something that was posted earlier in this thread: The friend I saw it with did mention that she had heard that, yes, there is a plan to do more X-Men Origins movie about different mutants.
My husband and I saw Wolverine last night for the first time. I don’t read the comics, so I can’t comment on many of the points addressed in this thread, but overall I thought it was okay. Honestly, I would have loved seeing the brothers fighting in all the wars and know their stories from each era, giving a better idea as to how/why the brothers’ world view begins to differ from each other.
The other thing I thought is that Heroes is a complete rip-off of X-men. I gave up on Heroes this season, but after watching Wolverine, I thought for sure HRG would pop out at some point.
Hugh Jackman was great and I don’t think it’s possible for Liev to be anything other than fantastic in any role.
I liked about 80 percent of this movie, Gambit was great, liked the the weapon x team up in the beginning, loved Liev Schreiber as saber tooth, dude is almost always the best part of any movie he’s ever in. it was a good summer popcorn flick, now to that nagging 20 percent. The memory loss in the end was just as about as lazy writing iv’e seen in recent memory. and to deadpool, now i love deadpool, and in the end with the plasma eyes… well sigh… but so long as it doesn’t mess up his stand alone movie i’ll just pretend it was someone else in the end. and still enjoy myself. to sum up; Its much like the first x-men movie great movie until the the last act. but still its pretty cool
