I can’t stop pondering on Cottle or Zarek. Both are wise. Zarek has been secretly directing many things from the beginning. For crying out loud he’s been the largest if not the determining factor the last 3 presidencies. The only anti-Zarek argument I can think of is that he’s almost been killed too many times to be the final, unless his genious and brilliance are so much that he knew he’d avoid death.

Cottle makes sense in that he would have stayed near the top of the power players, but never in direct control. Cottle’s done some pretty cool stuff and seems so grizzled and haggard that it would make sense he’s the final cylon and is getting damn tired of this game.

Gaeta??? I don’t see it, he just seems like mr. reactionary with no overt purpose at all, but I do think he’s gonna wig out and pop-a-cap in Anders or Starbucks ass at some point to further the storyline.

Dee??? No idea, but I can’t picture her as the Final because I have been operating under the assumption that the final is completely aware of what’s going on and even seeing to it that the attack on the colonies happened at the right time. That’s what makes me think it’s someone old(er) like a Cottle or Zarek.

I’m wondering if the final cylon is Roslyn ~ after all, every other time a cylon has “joked” about someone being a cylon eg Cavell and Chief, they’ve turned out to be a cylon. Why not this time with D’Anna and Roslyn.

I think the final cylon is Boomer for the following reasons…

  1. Her character needs to “claw her way redemption” more than any other character on the show. I believe this redemption will come in the form of a reconciliation with Tyrol that stops Boomer from wiping out the fleet. Think about it, she started out being the most human of cylons and then degraded to the point she threatened to kill Athena’s baby.
  2. D’Anna knew that there were only four cylons in the fleet. So, the remaining cylon must be on the Basestar or someone else that D’Anna KNOWS is not in the fleet. When you look at Adama, Roslin, Baltar, and Helo on the base ship, you can (assuming Ron Moore was truthful about the 5th cylon not being in the “Last Supper” picture) rule them out since they were all in the last supper picture. Athena IS in the picture but Boomer is not. Additionally, Boomer was there during D’Anna’s unboxing…so D’Anna knows Boomer’s alignment with the Cavil’s and her probable escape to the Cavil faction post unboxing
  3. I think it’s curious that one of the final five would be the “7” model…why didn’t the cylons call the “normal” skin jobs 1-7 and the final five 8-12. Instead we have 1-6 & 8 being the “normal” skin jobs and 7 & 9-12 being the final five. Is it possible that #7 is Boomer and the 8’s are just a copy of her? Maybe she was meant to be a sleeper agent among both cylons and humans.
  4. Boomer was not on the Galactica when the other four of the final five cylons were activated. That would explain why only four showed up when they converged on the room after hearing the music.

Why would that be indicative of a sense of humor? They were a good couple. They weren’t perfect but if it were not for the intervention of Tory in manipulator-slut mode they’d likely still be together. Outside Athena and Helo, what other couples have made it this far?

I think Roslin has a good chance. I have often wondered about her little ‘episode’ in the CIC when the cylon music was playing, i think she heard it, but was so messed up on Kamallah that she didn’t get the message.

Hrm…what about this, when Deanna said the four are hiding in your fleet…there was a craaaapload of people that weren’t in the fleet. In particular everyone that was on the baseship having that conversation (laura, adama, hotdog :stuck_out_tongue: etc…) So, maybe the fifth was on the baseship with them…just a thought

I think it’s entirely possible that the final cylon is one of the originals? Perhaps Deanna herself is the fifth cylon? Either that or she knows that the one isn’t in the fleet. Dead perhaps?

Yeah, I think the fifth is one of the original seven. Maybe Boomer, since she’s so unique and all… Or at least the fifth is with the missing remains of the splintered Cylon fleet…

I still maintain that Roslin is the final cylon. When Deana said that there were 4 in the fleet Laura was on the basestar at the time. So, it’s possible that Laura is the final cylon…

They have certainly been setting her up to need redemption.

At this point I honestly have no clue, beyond the fact that I have no doubt that the final cylon will not be a raptor, a battlestar, an original 7, a planet, or Baltar.

That and the words from Gaeta’s Lament line up well with her being the final cylon. I have a top ten on this in the Top Ten’s forum

This begs the question, why hasn’t she walked up and said, “Hi, you’re a Cylon! Welcome to the family! Glad to see you’ve already joined in the civil war.”

That’s my theory. The evidence is a little thin. Mostly it’s that he/she/it is/will be a full-blooded cylon, unlike Hera and Nick. The preview added a little bit when Tigh says in voice over “You’re the final Cylon.” He could be referring to literally anyone cause we can’t see who he’s talking to, but it wasn’t a very accusatory voice. I think he’s looking at his kid - maybe an ultrasound - as light dawns over Marblehead.

D’Anna has seen the Five, and stated plainly that only 4 were in the Fleet. She not only knew their faces, but names, probably after Tory told her.

If a Tighlon had been on board the Basestar, she never would have let it leave when she took Adama back to Galactica.

Now, this means that the Fifth is either something different in nature or someone that neither D’Anna know or Tory suspects, like someone who has died and been resurrected either in their own facility or before the Hub was destroyed.

Major candidates would be Billy, who RDM really likes as mentioned in the latest podcasts or someone totally unexpected like Caine who was not only near the Cylons as a child in Razor BUT ALSO was drawn to and had a love affair with the 6, Gina. Cat is also a possibility.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but I’ve been thinking recently that perhaps D’Anna knows who the fifth is, but doesn’t want to reveal the fifth because they are the most powerful of all of the cylons. And she wants to stay in charge because she sucks.

That idea might point to the Final Cylon being one of the big names… but who knows at this point?
