I am wondering (he says in his best Yoda imitation) who wrote ‘Cylon’ on Boomer’s mirror way back in I think Season 1?
It showed up in Catch the Frak Up and I figure there must be conspiratorial goodness here.

Not who do we know.
For some reason I always saw it as just her going crazy, or she wrote it when she was in her blackout. Okay, dumb idea lol
I don’t think it’s dumb, since I always assumed the same thing…
Yeah, I had sort of the same idea, except that it was in the ‘twilight’ between good and bad Boomer taking control. The good Boomer personality tried to warn herself.
Not so dumb, actually. Unless I’m dumb. Cause I thought the same thing.

AH! Great minds…
Yep, that’s what I always assumed too. It was really a kinda cold thing to do…blowing out the water tanks and frakkin’ with your own head like that.
but i’m not a cylon… I grew up in… wait a minute… oh frak!
I don’t think it was dumb either… but what I’m wondering is, is the same person that wrote “cylon”, the same person that wrote the note to Adama about there being 12 cylon models?
Welcome aboard, and great nick!
RDM has said that the person who wrote the note was Baltar, but they left out that bit to add some mystery to the whole thing. I don’t think Baltar could have known about Boomer at that point, so I’d have to say it wasn’t him.
If there is one RDM statement I do not buy into it’s the Baltar left the note for Adama one. Assuming RDM meant it when he said it, it will not turn out to be the case.
First, it is totally out of character for Baltar to be so forthcoming - and to risk being caught with such info.
Second, it is such a boring answer - and the question has good dramatic possibilities. IF it were handled correctly, it even could have been left by the FC.
I also suspect this will be on of those items Mary McD has said we’ll want to revisit after seeing the end of the series.
I like the Boomer concept - a lot.
Well, true enough. Nothing is final with RDM.
I don’t think it was Baltar either. Simply because it isn’t like him. At that point he didn’t care about anyone or anything unless it directly affected him. If he wrote that it would only be to cause her to freak out. I forget if it was after or before she “passed” his cylon detector, but niether would give him reason to do it.
If it was before, he would have no reason to suspect her, and even if he did he wouldn’t want to scare her and cause her cylon side to wake up and maybe kill him. And if it was after, it would suggest to the fleet that his cylon detector didn’t work, or even worse they found he passed her knowing she was a Cylon and did nothing, which I believe they would see as treason.
Yeah, I don’t think it was Baltar. But I may be very very wrong.
i always thought that Baltar wrote that note, since he was the only one on Galactica that was told this info. But he wouldn’t have had access to Adama’s quarters. So perhaps it was the FC. Or Disappearing-glasses-wearing-evil-6.
i always thought that boomer wrote her own cylon accusation too.
If you watch the scene, she already had the yellow paint on her fingers when she started wiping it off the mirror so I would have to go with the theory she is the one that wrote it in the first place.
Could also be from the previous takes. I wouldn’t be surprised if Grace had to scrub her fingers raw getting all that paint off.
For Boomer this was sort of a Head Cylon thing, having her goodness/badness warning her?
You don’t know how hard it was for me not to make bad jokes about her “goodness/gracious”
Thanks! Been lurking for a while, figured I’d join up before it all ends.
Hmmm… not that I really think this, but if Boomer was leaving reminders for herself, I wonder if that indicates that Adama was doing the same thing… and therefore is a cylon?
We did not consider that, Dude.
did say Adama (as to which one, who knows) was a cylon–I’ve come to think of that as an example of cylon lying when everyone accepted they didn’t lie.
Yet, Leoben does seem to know things he shouldn’t know about the cycle, about what has gone before–the whole we’ve done this before but the actors change thing.
Y’know, we should apply our brain power to solving the JFK assassination, as much as we think about stuff.
