Can we leave Baltar’s worm out of this please…
Bah. One paltry wormhole that went one place and back. Farscape had wormholes that travelled anywhere in the universe, across time and parallel worlds, not to mention using them as weapons! And all of that knowledge was locked in one guy’s head, around which most of the major plots revolved…
I wouldn’t go that far, but it was the only reason I paid extra for Showtime until it moved to Sci Fi. And then I paid extra for Sci Fi until the cable company offered it as a standard channel…
The last few seasons may have been a bit meh, but I’d wager if you consider the characters on Heroes to be deep, SG-1 is downright profound. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the plots were extremely complex, but it’s hardly laughably simplistic. Have you seen the movie, with Kurt Russell? At the very least, give that a watch. The show has a lot more humor, especially after the first season, but it would give you a jumping off point.
Yup, I saw the Kurt Russel movie when it came out (whenever that was). And I liked it. Never thot the concept warranted a whole TV series (much less three of them.) Well, they do have SG-1 at my local library, so I guess I’d be williing to fork over zero-dollars to check out a few episodes. But, the list of things I want to watch is getting longer all the time…so it may be a while before I take the effort to give SG-1 a whirl. But anyway, thanks for your input Poof. Much appreciated.
I know this was said before but, how is DS9 and Farscape not on this list?
Can. Not. Vote.
You know what makes it the bestest ever?
SISKO.
I had to pick Tremors because it had Ariana Richards in it (the chick who played Lex in Jurassic Park), and i used to have a huuuge crush on her. I would have picked Red Dwarf if that were mentioned.
I just now voted, and I hate it when people vote without posting a comment, so here’s me commenting (see above).
In second thought, I’m re-watching that particular episode right now!
Fun show! One of those goofball standalone episodes SG-1 sometimes does, featuring that guy from sec and the city.
Sorry I was an ass but I’d count this show in just for fun’s sake ^_* !

What I love about this episode are the in-jokes and the breaking of the 4th wall - especially the real writers, directors & producers of the real SG-1 playing themselves in the fictional show. Most especially the outro! Worth the price of the ticket - allegorically speaking
