Anyone else a fan of the X-Wing books/comics? Okay, I’ll stick with the comics here as that is the idea of this section yes?

Seriously folks check them out! You will see the GFFA in a new light after reading these and since Dark Horse has recently published them all in three nifty omnibusses (omnibi?) they’re very easy to find as opposed to the past five years when you couldn’t find them at all.

You’ll really find a new appreciation for how hard these men and women (and critters) worked to bring the remains of the Empire down and make the Republic a safe place for everyone. Plus they are funny as hell.

They pick up immediately after ANH and go from there so if you’ve seen ANH you won’t need to read 120 novels to understand the plot.

Next to TOTJ the X-Wing series comics and books are my favorite. I have a lithograph of the the cover from the first issue of Rogue Squadron signed by the artist Dave Dorman.

I think I connect so much with this series because I was constantly pretending that I was an X-wing pilot making the Trench run on my bike when I was a kid.

I agree the comics and books are great for seeing what it’s like for the soldiers of AGFFA to fight a war against the Empire.

Next to Wedge Antilles my fav. pilot is Corran Horn. He is mainly dealt with in the books, but he does have a cameo from his CorSec days in the comics. In fact I’ll even go so far as to say, Corran is my favorite EU character. He’s just so cool. He’s like what Luke would’ve been if he remained a pilot.

I agree totally! I kind of equate Corran with Luke because in that time frame they were both such incredible Mary-Sue characters that it made my teeth hurt but Corran’s character was greatly redeemed in my eyes in I,Jedi and further so in the NJO series.

I take it then you’ve read all the X-Wing/Wraith books as well? Hope so, I’d love to gush over their immense greatness with someone.

As for me, I’m a Wes Janson girl to the very end.
