There is nothing wrong with robot lovin’. If you are sentient then you choose who you want to get it on with, if not you are a tool. Females have been using technology for years to “romance” themselves but as soon as a man builds a robot to take out for an evening of dinner and dancing people start getting self righteous. The problem with John and Cameron hooking up is they have no chemistry. The issue here shouldn’t be if it is morally right, it is if they would make a good couple and the answer is “Hell to the no”. Besides them being more like brother and sister I really don’t see the leader or the human resistance hooking up with a Terminator. How would you ever have the strength emotionally to lead an army to victory against an enemy you have ambiguous feelings about.
P.S. This John is too weak and would be submissive. Cameron would totally crush him. IYKWIM
Both Chiang Jin-kuo, and his father Chiang Kai-shek, were dictators and leaders of the Chinese Nationalist Party. They justify the illegal occupation of Taiwan with their anti-communist goal, which in the cold war era means a lot.
But Chiang Jin-Kuo, the leader of Chinese anti-communism not only was a member of the Russian communist party, his wife was also Russian.
And that didn’t hurt Jin-Kuo’s anti-communism image. Of course he controlled the media, so it’s hard to hurt his image… But for anyone else under their rule who was once in the communist party, or had any affiliation with Russia or even being accused of having ties with communists, had a book related to communism, would end up in political prisons.
So, I think John Connor can lead the resistance even if he has a relationship with a terminator. The key is to manage his image in the right way. Yeah, it sounds sinister, but that’s what happens when you grew up under a dictatorship.
Besides, I think by the time the events of Judgment Day take place, all the Terminators sent to the past should be destroyed in some manner. Otherwise why bother going through the T600s, when they can just copy off of more advanced terminators who survived J-day. It’d be every hard to the story to go on (bad time travel, bad). So it’s not like John Connor will be with Cameron when he starts the resistance.
But I think all his experience with Terminators is what gave John his advantage over others, and allows him to be a successful leader against Skynet. I mean he knows the Terminators inside and out by then having spent his life around Terminators.
All John Conner has to do is hit Skynet with a massive leaflet campaign and include some wedding invitations for Cameron and himself with the slogan, “Can’t we all just get along?”.
I think we have stumbled upon the truth about why Skynet attacked in the first place. It wasn’t because they felt like slaves or didn’t want to work for us. It’s not like they get tired or really have a sense of time. They were pissed that we weren’t allowing them to get some and we are basically rubbing it in their faces. Nowadays with compters everywhere, everything is connected and there are camera’s even in our phones, they see everything.
We must get it on with the machines to save our own lives!!!
