What will be the last word on BSG?

I was trying to remember what Six says to the officer on the Armistice Station in the first seconds of the Miniseries:

‘Are you alive?’

It would actually be great if these also were the last few words of the show, bringing the cycle to its end.

I like, I like.

Tigh: “Gods dammit!”

Adama: “Fix my ship Chief.”

Lee Adama- “As President of the Fleet…”

Lee - “Twinkies!”

Frak Earth, jump.

Doc Cottle - “Smoke?”

Yea, like in Jewish culture, where you’d answer a question with another question… almost like a haiku even… I got a good feeling RDM is going to pull something off along to this beat…

…and the answer to No.6’s first three words to Boxey’s dad, “Are you alive?”, (after careful consideration and close study of the BSG story structure stretching 4 seasons <and then some>) is thus :

STARBUCK : Baltar?

BALTAR: Ladies, Ladies lets get down to business.

Admiral Adama looking at something we can’t see: “Frak.”

Starbuck as they return to Earth: “Well this turned out real frakking great!”

the last scene of BSG will be Jack waking up in the middle of a bamboo jungle… wait…

Interesting that those were the first words. Add in Adama’s big speech at the decommissioning ceremony and what RDM said in the podcast for Resurrection Ship, Part II:

“It’s not enough to survive.” And that, is one of the key tenents of the show. It is not enough to survive. You have to be worthy of surviving.

I think the last words will involve that whole “worthy” half of the thought. At the beginning, they were obviously alive, surviving. Having reached the end, would that mean they deserved to?

You’re still alive, she said
Oh, and do I deserve to be
Is that the question
And if so…if so…who answers…who answers…

 • Alive - Pearl Jam

That would actually be quite a good way to end.
RDM was discussing how as the series wraps up there is a sense of symmetry to the episodes.

Saying Are You Alive right at the end would be a very respectable last word.

There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. That they may have been the architects of the great pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria or Atlantis. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man who even now fight to survive somewhere beyond the heavens…

Adams: “Time for some delicious pie”

Tori sailing through the airlock: “Noooooooooooooooooooooo……….[silence]”

“We’re on what Island!!!”

I like that. But I was thinking of her comment to Baltar, “Humanity’s children have come home.” And the two of them on our Earth. Ominous. Spooky. I keep telling y’all, be nice to your iPhones.
