I vaguely recall some movie (or maybe it was an episode of a tv show) in which a character’s back was used as a writing surface, and he could recognize and remember what was written. maybe he got a girl’s phone number or address this way? google isn’t helping, so I thought I’d turn to the hive mind. I don’t think I liked the movie or tv show or whatever it was, but it’s just bugging me that I can’t remember!
And this wasn’t Memento? Not the same plot, but the same plot device…
Sounds like Prison Break (he had a map and info tattoed on his back to help him get out) but that was a TV series on Fox.
oh! sorry for being vague–what I meant was that someone else used his back in lieu of a desk and wrote on a piece of paper.
Oh…that gets used a lot, actually – people offering their backs as a writing surface. (Which boggles me, because unless the person has leather for skin, that friggin’ pen is join’ RIGHT through that paper, and your shirt is as good as RUINED, pal…)
But I digress.
The scene involved getting a woman’s number or some such event, though? That narrows it down…
That sounds like the episode of Monk, where they went to his class reunion. The woman he eventually married used his back as a desk to make a map of how to get to her dorm room for a friend. And he could remember the strokes of her pen so vividly that he used the memory to find her room to return a book she had left behind in the library. Which led to their first date.
yes!! that’s what it was–thank you! now I can sleep tonight. xD
Behold the power of the hive mind!
