io9 confirmed that the Book comic is coming soon

The long-awaited Firefly/Serenity spin-off comic focusing on the origin of Shepherd Book is coming soon at last. And the good news is creator Joss Whedon will be on-board as a co-writer of the three-issue series, according to editor Scott Allie. As we reported before, it includes how Shepherd Book found God in a bowl of soup, and took his name from a man he killed. Best news of all? There may be a comic focusing on rugged mercenery Jayne Cobb soon as well.

I don’t know.

I quite like that Book’s origin hasn’t been revealed thus far. It seems to me far cooler that there’s this ambiguity, because once its been nailed down, it’ll be yeah, well obviously Shepherd is that, this, the other.

Some things tick me off for their ambiguousness, but this I’m happy being a bit whooooooooo.
