What storylines will you take into Mass Effect 2 (ME1 Spoilers ahead)

As I’m sure many of you are aware the choices that are made in Mass Effect will contribute to the storyline of Mass Effect 2. I’m not sure how much impact these choices will have but I’m sure they will have some. I’m going to list a few of the choices that I think may be important to the sequel, although I’m sure I’ve forgotten some, so feel free to suggest some more. I’m also sure that most of us will try various combinations of storyline, so this thread is for your first/main play through

Anyway here come the spoilers, you’ve been warned

  1. The big one, the state of the council. Did they survive? Or are you going with the human council, or perhaps the other human led alien council

  2. Who’s the Humans Ambassador? (Did anyone choose Udina? I always thought he was a jerk and have never chose him, I’m curious to know what happens if you do)

  3. What relationship do you choose - Ashley, Kaiden or Liara

  4. Who dies Ashley or Kaiden? Wrex?

  5. Did you give information to the Shadow broker? (I really hope they were setting up a plot point there)

That’s all I can think of, of the top of my head. But I’m sure there are a few other plots points that may play a role in ME2, so keep them coming.

I’m gonna go with my original game. Sorrybarbhole to all the civilians/council and a true homie to the Military. So.

  1. Council saved, want them in my pocket
  2. Andersen of course, pshah Udina. I’ll be shocked if anyone picked him
  3. Ashley :3
  4. Kaiden, Wrex is alvie
  5. Uh…I don’t think I did, I don’t remember it being a huge plot point

The shadow broker wasn’t a big plot point, but it screams forshadowing to me. Of course it’s likely I’ve read to much into it.

My answers are the same, except I’m letting the Rachni live and I went with Liara

You know what they need is a previously on. After you select your character an announcer voice comes up and says “Previously, on Mass Effect” then runs through clip scenes and highlights your exploits to catch you up. How am I going to remember it all after 2 years. :confused:

It’s tough for me because I played two complete games so far, with a third in progress. My first run was paragon, but it was a surprisingly awful character class (engineer/soldier hybrid) and I missed several quests, including the class evolution on the moon.

So my renegade shock trooper will probably move forward simply because he’s better-equipped and tougher, though there are some consequences from those actions I am not a big fan of.

  2. Who’s the Humans Ambassador? Udina is the kind of ruthless leader I want on my side helping me rule the galaxy

  5. Did you give information to the Shadow broker? Yes.

I am seriously considering a third brand-new playthrough as a more paragon-style character simply with the sole purpose of setting up the sequel properly with a class I’m more comfortable with.

I have about 6 completed games. Here is what has happened on my last play-thru. :smiley:

  1. The council is dead.

  2. Captain Anderson - who else?

  3. Ashley

  4. Kaiden - Wrex lives!

  5. I think so. :o

  6. The queen is dead.

I can’t wait for ME2. I’ve configured my new laptop at least 6 times but haven’t bought it yet. ME2 is pre-ordered!

  2. Captain Anderson. I think that’s probably going to have reprecussions.
  3. None of the above! I never got close to Liara, and I think I killed Ashley.
  4. I think it was Ashely, but I managed to save Wrex (yay).
  5. I don’t remember, I don’t think so.

Playing my Inflitrator is going to be fun, but with the new combat system I don’t think it’ll be as much as a walk in the park with just the sniper rifle.

Since Ill probably continue with my Insanity playthrough that means the Council was saved. Lets see how well that works out lol.

Udina is a douche, even when I go Renegade I still hate him. Capt. Anderson all the way!

On the playthrough Im taking forward I goofed and ruined my chances with Ashley, so no romance for me :frowning:

If I remember correctly I sacrificed Kaiden and Ashley put a hole the size of a basebell in Wrex’s head. So sweet her looking out for me like that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sure did. Hopefully he gives me the hookup in ME2 so I dont have to kill him.

Freed her, no choice really. Paragon’s dont exactly go around ending entire species no matter how creepy and dangerous.

  4. Wrex? and kaiden i mean dude was useless in a fight. as for killing wrex well its just too hilarious for me not to kill him and than tell ashley to dump his body in the swamp.

  5. Shadow broker yep i gave it up to him just to get close to him next time and get Ashley to dump his body in the swamp next to wrex.

dammit this game is gonna force me to buy another 360 next month (and than it will red ring again like they all do :mad:) why for the love of god can’t they make this multi platform or a 360 that doesn’t have an almost 50 percent failure rate.

I’ve been thinking about it. I’m gonna do fresh, quick, run throughts on my Infiltrator and Adapt and hopefully get both to 60. Gonna do my first ME2 game with my Infilitrator though cause that’s the very first character I played and he’s how I envision Shepherd if I think about him

well I did 7 play throughs, I pretty much have every possible ending going in,

however I’ll probably do my Adept Paragon for my first ME2 run through, saved Ashley, didn’t Kill Wrex

only killed Wrex on my one evil play through

Played as a Paragon. A Paragon of Paragons. No Renegade points at all. Given that, my answers are obvious.

  1. I wore a halo and saved the counsel.

  2. Chose Anderson. (Has anyone chosen Udina?) Anderson has a bit of a renegade streak, so it will be interesting to see how he manages on the counsel. Udina was just an obsequious bureaucratic wank.

  3. First run through – Kaiden. Second run through (after DH accidentally erased my game, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh) Liara, just to be different.

  4. Ashley’s a gonner. Wrex was my favorite character so of course he stayed. (Even when I had to replay part of the game to ensure his good health.)

  5. I did not give information to the Shadow broker. That would be a non-paragon thing to do. The response to my Dudley Do Right routine was a bit ominous. If the Shadow Broker doesn’t try to hand me my ass on a platter – I will be disappointed. Besides, gives me the opportunity to take him out.

  5. The Shadow broker I just don’t remember but I do remember making a deal with the weapons smugglers to only smuggle weapons and not mess with people if I killed the competition. (unless that was them)

You’re talking about that lady you meet at the Citadel, correct? No, that is not the Shadow Broker. You never meet the SB, only hear about him/her through others. At one point an employee of the SB contacts you via radio on the Normandy and asks you to sell some information that you have.

    -Flirted a bit with Kaiden, but ended up with Liara. Didn’t realize Ashley was an option, but Kaiden was a bit of a lump, and Ashley was so xenophobic it hardly would have occurred to me.
