What other Podcasts do you listen to?

Don’t sweat it, sir. GWC isn’t like that. Welcome.

Thanks. I kind of stirred things up again for the Rejoined episode. But at least that got someone to write a comprehensive view of homosexuality representation in all Star Trek. So, something cool came out of it.

I knew I was going to have issues with the Gamma Quadrant from the beginning. The first episode I heard was “The Cardassian”. It was the episode about Cadassian war orphans on Bajor. It is a piece very relevant to our time, and they hated it.

But since there’s no DS9 podcasts out there, i still listen to GQ anyway… at least someone’s talking about it…

At least they liked Duet, that’s something… I am waiting to see what they have to say about Far Beyond the Stars.

The Nerdist very funny!

I added NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour to my podcast subscriptions in November and have enjoyed it consistently enough to recommend it wholeheartedly to the GWC community.

Stephen Thompson, whom you know if you listen to All Songs Considered, talks pop culture with 2 to 3 other NPR staffers. Thompson is a huge comics nerd. So is Trey Graham (“Trey with an e and Graham like the cracker”).

Their discussion of movies they are looking forward to in 2011 included Thor, Paul and the new X-Men flick. They also love crappy reality TV and certain excreble romantic comedies but they are so grounded in geek that it makes me even somewhat interested in the new season of The Bachelor. (ok, not really)

To subscribe, look up Pop Culture Happy Hour in iTunes and subscribe to Culturetopia. It’s weird–there are 2 different culture-related shows wrapped in the same cast. I usually just skip the weekly dl of Culturetopia, which is a collection of the editors’ favorite arts and culture news stories of the week.
