What other Podcasts do you listen to?

No, I don’t think I did. I should prolly do that.

BTW, in case I haven’t mentioned (enough) before, y’all should be following the StarShipSofa

(How cool is that vid? (Very is the only acceptable response.))

Very!

And I’ve been listening for a long time!

I’ve added, “The Film Vault” to my podcast portfolio. This comes from the Adam Carolla network. I find it strangely endearing. Bryan is the typical loves all movies, regardless of quality and Anderson is the total film school film snob. Together they can be occasionally hilarious and consistently entertaining.

I stumbled across this one a few months ago and devoured every episode in a couple weeks. I love that they have actual voice actors reading excerpts. And they’re not complete fanboys, either — when Lovecraft is racist or overly florid or just plain silly, they call him on it. They’re pretty funny and entertaining in general.

I need to stock up on some PG-rated podcasts for a family trip. Already filled up and/or caught up on Tolkien Prof, Sound Opinions, The Moth, This American Life, Fresh Air, Mo Ryan’s Watcher, Fire & Iceberg (Ryan and Iceberg are two excellent TV 'casts), and GWC. Any suggestions on how to fill another couple hours?

DXF: Check out RadioLab. Some awesome stuff.

I liked RadioLab at first, but something about it rubs me the wrong way. Maybe the production style. But when it’s good, it’s good.

Solai and I went back and forth about that a bit ago. I find their production style really annoying. The subjects are quite good, which just adds to my frustration.

Naturally, others quite like it. YMMV.

If you have a Mac or other Apple product and you enjoy snarky humor, I recommend Mac OS Ken, a daily podcast about all things Apple. There is also a one-hour Mac OS Ken Live on a weekly basis, and a Mac OS Ken Day 6 available via subscription if you choose to fork over $10/month.

Makes you appreciate why people hate Max Headroom

“Stuff You Should Know” and “Stuff You Missed in History Class” are both really good PG casts. “Infotainment” may seem a little triete, but they’re really pretty entertaining and do a good job of talking about some things you may not have even heard of before.

Is that one educational – like, will it teach you how to do stuff – or is it for tech-literati?

ExacTly. (And I even like Max Headroom (Just released on DVD, BTW))

Oh, Max rules. I’m saying that the Radiolab style makes me understand why people bristle at his techno glitches. It’s cool when Max does it, but not those dudes.

Legends Podcast…Nightwing’s cast. Really good and teh funneh!

On that note, anyone else tired of the ‘record scratch’ sound effect? I hear it all the time in podcasts, including an unnamed one some here may be familiar with.

Thank you!!!
Coming from you it means the world to me

You’re welcome!

I’ve been waiting to see you post about it yourself. No one is going to kick you out of GWCville if you occasionally plug your cast.

My current podcast subscription on iTunes:

And how would one acquire this? Itunes has no clue…
