What movie/TV series to watch?

Community and Spartacus.

Spartacus, feel free to skip episodes 1 and 2.

A quick update from my side:

Spartacus: that was a badSorryBarbseries, although the CGI was a bit irritating from time to time, the characters, the action and especially the storylines were gripping. Get the Prequel and Season 2 on, FAST!!

Chuck: This show keeps getting better and better. Would love me some more John Casey stories next season

Dexter: OMG!! Season 4 was gory and fantastic at the same time, plus the last scene:eek::eek:

Next on my list is True Blood and tonight I’m gonna watch Shaun of the Dead.

What happens when South Park, James Bond, Venture Brothers all drop acid and have an orgy? They give birth to the show Archer.

Watch Archer. Today. For free. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Everyone who has taken my advice has come back with the same thought:

“OH MY FREAKIN’ CROM THAT WAS AWESOME”

Do it. Do it now.

Yeah, watch Archer. It won’t disappoint.

OK, The GF and I are caught up (DVD-wise) on BBT, Chuck, and the Venture Bros. What (again, DVD-wise) should we watch next?

Have you tried Mad Men? It really is as good as they say, and with three seasons to work through you can pull it out for a while.

Oh, yeah. Meant to hit that one at some point. I heard it gets kinda old as you go on, though.

It might. We are halfway through the second season and it is holding on strong. The first season is brilliant, definitely check that out.

OK, so it’s good for at least two seasons. Sold.

I tried every trick I knew to get around Hulu’s frakkin geocoding, even managed to sign up with an account to watch the “mature” content of Archer.
But after the short FX blurb, a message appears that “They’re unable to stream this video and I should check my connection”. But I already have managed to reroute my address to an US IP-address!!

Interesting. Did you try another proxy? I’m wondering if they’re blocking known ones.

I know they are blocking known ones, like HotSpot Shield. The one I’m using now enables me to watch clips on Comedy Central for example and it uses a single IP. If you could give me another US-based one I could try it again.
The trick I used is from http://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/9atz9/the_daily_show_if_only_the_glenn_beck_of_sixteen/c0c267a

Haha, who would have thot!!
I can stream Archer on the official FX website: http://vod.fxnetworks.com/fod/play.php?sh=archer&ep=307 but there is no fullscreen option, so maybe better at http://www.watchtvshowsfree.net/archer-season-1-episode-1-archer

Solai and Pike, I’m gonna start with the first one tonight!

Careful, it’s like potato chips. You can’t do just one.

Well done and good luck! Be sure to post your comments over in the Archer thread: http://forum.galacticwatercooler.com/showthread.php?t=9772

Have done it and episode two was also very laughable.

Starting now with True Blood Season 1 Episode 1. Am intrigued how the Vampires are depicted there.

I just started watching the first season of Warehouse 13 and like it so far. (Second season just started this past week. I decided to watch the entire first season before jumping in to it at season two.)

I watched seasons 5-9 of Smallville over the last month to catch up for the upcoming final season. I forgot how much I enjoyed that show. If you can get past the CW-ness of it, the Superman mythos is really depicted in an interesting way that more closely resembles the comics as the show goes on.

Yeah, although I’m not well versed in the Superman lore, after having caught some episodes from season 1-3 about 5 years ago, I fully jumped into Smallville and watched it since Season 5 up to now. The last two seasons were really great (minus the end fight of the Season 8 finale).
I wholly recommend it to anyone who is still skeptical about it because it airs on the CW. After you get past the first 5 seasons it really picks up pace and matures.

I’m late to the game on these series but I’m enjoying both Farscape (just started season 2) and Stargate SG-1 (as it airs on Syfy). I’m enjoying both and I can see now why SGU viewers say it’s dark, as it appears to be darker than SG1. But you may have already seen these.

I concur on Chuck and Warehouse 13 and many of the other suggestions. Warehouse 13 really grew on me as it went along. Give it time; it’s charming and funny.
