So, long story short… Son got a new comp for Christmas. I made a comment that I should take his old one and turn it into a web server to host my business website. When I arrived home from work Christmas night hubby and a friend had cobbled together a web server, loaded open Suse with Apache. That’s as far as they went.
I’m an old school programmer, I work on a Mainframe (yes they still exist). NO CLUE what to do next. My company is a small retail business which will not require a store front just yet.
Yes, I can go out to the web and start searching, but I also like to take in advice from those who have gone this route. One never knows what great knowledge the Hive Mind might share.

My website is currently costing me $24 a month and being a startup company, it’s really eating into my profit. Have looked for other, cheaper hosting services and may go with one of them. But for now I also want to start playing with my own web server.
