Anyone catch the series premiere? Any thoughts?
I think it was a fantastic start to a new series!
Saul Rubinek http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0007210/ alone is worth watching this show for.
It is kind of a mix between Indiana jones + x-files.
it is a little more light hearted then x-files and I think it will be a good summer show.
All of that said… if you watch the pilot, the Girl, Myka Bering played by Joanne Kelly http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1162399/ goes through the most change in the show. she is a little hard to take at first, but by the end you can see the beginning of a pretty good character.
check it out.
I liked it… got my DVR set for series record on this one… it’s pretty derivative (X-files, Friday the 13th), but I still liked it anyway. It’s a fun show, like Eureka. I agree that Rubinek’s great… seems to steal the scenes he’s in, like John Noble does on Fringe.
It also had a guest appearance by Michael Boatman from Spin City… was a nice surprise – haven’t seen that guy around for a while.
I’m not loving it… yet. i will definitely DVR and watch because I want very much to like it and have something new and fun. All my shows disappear. Not in series ending way like BSG, but in the vortex that is Skiffy’s programing department, Fox’s, etc.
I’d like to see Micka a bit less uptight and the guy a little less goofy. Perhaps as more episodes air and the actors grow into their roles, it will get better.
It was just the pilot. Let the actual series and characters develop a bit more before dismissing it, even if it is SyFy.
It has a lot of promise. I hope Syfy (God, I hate that name…) stays with it for a couple of full seasons. The premise is quite good, fertile ground for stories along the lines of Stargate: SG1.
I’ll be watching as much as I can.
Hey - join in the Frak parties! We’re doing them for Warehouse 13 and also for Eureka on Friday nights.
Awesome, wacky and fun!
I was pretty pleased with last night’s episode. More character development and fun humor. Of course the guest star was fabulous! The show has a lot of potential.
The Tricia Helfer guest role didn’t hurt, either.
I’m cautiously optimistic about this one. There are so many historical artifacts they could be tapped for stories as the show goes forward. Part of me would actually like to see (if only as a subtle reference) some of the artifacts from The Lost Room.
I’m really looking forward to tonight’s episode, that’s such a great feeling.
I agree! AND its on SYFY… INCONCEIVABLE!!!
So they have a couple of good shows at once, again?
I so would have lost that bet…
Eddie McClintock tweeted a link to an interview with Executive Producer Jack Kenny where he talks about Myka and the addition of Aaron Ashmore to the cast.
He also talks about Family as being the key to the shows success. This is something that Chuck has mentioned several times and it’s great to see that the show runners are on the same page as the fans.
Oh yes! A steampunk Warehouse 13 spin-off with HG Wells!
I’m in!

I’m in too. Wells was frequently the best part of the 2nd season, especially the last half.
