I mean the lady and her partner had the same job years ago.

So the old lady is an agent. The name change thing is an inaccuracy. They couldn’t have found her if she had changed her name because the boyfriend had her name written on a pad and they found her easily using that name. So either it was sloppy writing or they have the character lying.
That sounds good to me. Let us see if you are right.
