Visiting Plano, Texas 9/13 & 9/14

Suddenly I find myself scheduled to visit Plano, Texas 9/13 & 9/14 and am looking for activities. I went to www.plano.gov but can’t find anything that trips my trigger. Does anyone have suggestions from 4:00pm to 11:00pm-ish?

I enjoy beer, museums, beer, open air concerts, beer, and it looks like I can take the Dallas Area Rapid Transit into DFW if that’s where the good stuff is. I would imagine that widens my options quite a bit, though I’m not really into spectator sports unless (you guessed it) I’m sipping a frosty barley-pop.

Obviously the Monthly GWC DFW Area Happy Hour is right up my alley if anyone else partakes and is available the 13th or 14th.

The zoo and especially the aquarium are interesting, but the whole captivity thing gets me down after a while. I suppose the patriotic thing to do would be to visit the Sixth Floor Museum and get some pictures for my parents.

Heck, I’ll even go to an art museum if someone explains what I’m looking at!

Chuck, Audra and Sean are just a hop, skip and a jump away from Plano. Hopefully they’ll be able to meet up with you while you are there.

That would be waaaay cool but it’s so last minute… I still haven’t seen Inception, Avatar 3d, or Scott Pilgrim, so I can check those out.

There’s a chance Audra and I might be able to catch up with you Monday evening. What’s your schedule like that day? (That’s the 13th, right?)

Affirmative, Monday the 13th. Looks like the plane lands at DFW at 2:44pm and besides check-in at the Comfort Suites in Plano I have nothing scheduled for the rest of the evening.

I’m up for pretty much anything, though I may be a little frazzled from the trip. Flying makes me nervous.

How 'bout 8:00 p.m. at the Rover? It’s in Frisco, but a short hop from where you’re staying.

I will be at the Irish Rover Pub and Restaurant by 8:00pm. You’ll have to help me pick out some draft beers, looks like they carry quite a few.

I look forward to seeing you and Audra then, I’ll practice my Seanscream in the meantime and send you a PM with my picture/details so you know who you’re looking for. :wink:
