Video conversion for watching on PVP?

So, my moron self has been drooling over portable video players for months without realizing that my phone will play mp4 QVGA video. facepalm I just need to get a data cable and headphone jack converter (stupid Samsung with their proprietary jacks!)

So, now that I’ve realized this, how do I convert the video files I have on my computer (ie recorded television) to an mp4 QVGA? What software do you guys use- and I know a bunch of you put video on your iPods, etc- to convert vids?

Just about any video software should be able to resave in QVGA (320x240 pixels). What file format do you need?

I know it will play mp4, and I did realize I have Nero Recode, so I kinda figured it out. Now I just need to get a data cable or figure out how to get my computer to read my microSD card so I can get the vids onto the phone! LOL! I’m hopeless!
