Video and Audio editing software

I’m looking for some Video and Audio editing software for, well, video and audio editing… :slight_smile:

I’m trying to make some short films, and right now I’m using Windows Movie Maker which has everything I need. I’ve done everything I want to do, but I would like to have a few more tools to play with, especially with audio editing, and be able to save the movies as .mpg files instead of .wmv files.

  1. It has to be really cheap, either free or shareware or really cheap.
  2. It has to work on Windows XP or Vista.
  3. It should be able to save the movies as .mpg.

I could use a audio editor first and I have no problem with doing audio editing in one package and video with a different package.

Check out VideoHelp.com.

You don’t mention what you’re converting from, but there are free programs listed there – and guides to use most of them – that should cover pretty much every possibility.
