Two shows with a somewhat similar premise both get really cool ships a couple of seasons in. One one side we have the USS Defiant, the Federations first ship built primarily for war, commanded by Benjemin Sisko. The other we have The White Star, primarily built from Minbari and Vorlon technology, under the command of John Sheridan.
So who do you think would win, regardless it would be one hell of a fight.

Not even close… Defiant.
I luvs me some Star Trek but I have to go with the White Star here. It’s Vorlon tech with Minbari crew. It beat the crap outta some Shadow vessels (which aren’t too shabby). Yes I know the Defiant fought Borg and Jem-Hadar but I think the White Star has the edge here.
Not to mention that the White Stars (there were lots of them, too, compared to just one Defiant) were living tech and were capable of learning and improving themselves.
There were quite a few Defiant class ships, but not as many as there were White Stars.
You know, I sort of remembered the Defiant being a whole class of ships. I guess I’m better with B5 trivia than DS9…
The White Star
If I remember right the Defiant was a prototype that Sisko worked on to combat the Borg. Sisko went off to finish making the ship and brought back to DS9. The ship class into coming into production to combat the Gem Hedar threat.
I had to go with the White Star. Although the Defiant’s cloak could give the ship an edge in sneak attacks.
I have absolutely NO respect for the White Star Line becaue of its frak ups with its ill-fated luxury flagship, the RMS Titanic.
I’m not sure a cloak would matter. White Stars have Vorlon tech, so they’re probably at least slightly telepathic.
They also got the US involved in the Vietnam War, not to mention being used for chemical warfare in World War I. Downright shameful…
I have noticed many of these deathmatches are ties. I guess some things are to close to call.
Defiant, it is a cooler name
The White Star…sounds like the name of the restaurant at the Holiday Inn down by the Interstate.
This one isn’t even a contest. The Whitestar blows away anything the Federation has to offer.
